If only they'd done that at Disneyland last week..."In case of emergency, deploy fountains"

They did deploy the mist screens, but nothing would have blocked that inferno from guest view, unfortunately. If only they'd done that at Disneyland last week...
I actually meant to put it out! They did deploy the mist screens, but nothing would have blocked that inferno from guest view, unfortunately.

Water doesn't work for an Oil Fire?????? It's still a Fire isn't it???As it was by all accounts an oil fire, the last thing you want to do is point water at it we might have lost more of the island in that case.
What happens to the oil when you try to mix it in water? They don’t mix and oil floats to the top. A Fire needs fuel, oxygen and heat. Water mearly makes oil more mobile, and doesn’t impair its access to oxygen, the loss of some heat is not enough to stop the fire.Water doesn't work for an Oil Fire?????? A question for everyone: What is this dragon? View attachment 713455 It's been used on Fantasmic advertising (on both coasts) since the DL version opened.

Was there too. Any idea what it was?At Fantasmic right now, and the show stopped right when dragon’s supposed to come out.
Edit: 5 minutes later it resumed, and was able to finish.
it was announced a couple of weeks ago thoughClosed for maintenance unexpectedly.

There's SO many things it could have been. Problems with the dragon is most likely. Problems with the Maleficent lift is also possible. Then there's a myriad of things that could be happening backstage. Was there too. Any idea what it was?
It's the same thing as a grease fire in your kitchen. You NEVER douse it with water. Either use a kitchen-grade fire extinguisher or baking soda. Splashing it with water would only cause it to jump and spread.Water doesn't work for an Oil Fire?????? It's still a Fire isn't it???

How interesting... between a Dragon with lockjaw and stunt trampolines that have been out of use for weeks or months, one can't help but wonder what specifically the crane is there to assist with. There was a crane spotted on-site today at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater for F!'s maintenence.
