Water doesn't work for an Oil Fire?????? It's still a Fire isn't it???

What happens to the oil when you try to mix it in water? They don’t mix and oil floats to the top. A Fire needs fuel, oxygen and heat. Water mearly makes oil more mobile, and doesn’t impair its access to oxygen, the loss of some heat is not enough to stop the fire.

It's the same thing as a grease fire in your kitchen. You NEVER douse it with water. Either use a kitchen-grade fire extinguisher or baking soda. Splashing it with water would only cause it to jump and spread.
