Hey, at least we're going the most investment in decades.

These are definitely exciting times for the resort- but it'll be interesting to see how all of the new stuff they're implementing holds up long term. How relevant will screen based attractions and shows be in 20 years, with technology improving so rapidly? How relevant will the Marvel Cinematic universe be? These are questions no one could possibly know the answer to, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

You just won my favorite Internet personality award for the month of July!!!

Awww! Just making up for being the worst during the run-up to guardians
Mike started with the announcement of SWL for DL. Nightmares...

To be fair mine began when California Adventure opened and I've been losing sleep every since. You can't pick and choose how your OCD manifests I suppose! Sure they're spending a ton of money now, but, on what? How will anybody be able to distinguish between the parks, or between disney and universal for that matter, if you have nothing but blockbusters, animated films, and comic book franchises in every single theme park? When epcot no longer means anything? I'm really optimistic though that we are approaching peak IP. Once they all blast their billions on star wars and potter as the anchoring IP lands, nothing will every come close, and there will be far more demand for unique experiences than for lesser IP attractions. Anything after will feel like Pooh. I'm hoping by 2030 epcot and california adventure are breathed unique life into them, new takes on their themes and new stylistic approaches, and that tomorrowland and fantasyland are improved upon. Wouldn't hurt to get the disneyland resort property up to snuff with some more victoriana plazas rather than postmodern strip malls, replacement of the surface parking, and down with paradise pier hotel for either dca or more resorts.

It's only a matter of time until Disney Parks Blog finally makes a post on Fantasmic's renewal. It's close to D 23 Weekend and it's got to be a great opportunity.

The review did mention more Mickey presence, and he apparently talks in the intro now as well. But beyond that, I have no idea how he is now incorporated.
I heard they will finally have Sorcerer Mickey defeating Maleficent making the past promotional art and pictures accurate. But we will have to wait 6 more days to find out.

According to that report, the Pirates scene doesn't have the projection mapping as speculated, and is far inferior to the Peter Pan scene it replaced.

This is something I've been worried about since it was announced. Personally, I think Peter Pan with his "flying" allows for better stunts than a drunk Jack Sparrow stumbling his way around the Columbia, with a skeleton crew of performers who achieve this effect via projection mapping, preventing them from doing any falling or jumping stunts that might not line up perfectly with the projection.

Disney Parks Blog does a truly horrible job of being a PR outlet. They get things wrong and even announce new things after they've debuted. Still waiting for a post about StoryMaker. Meanwhile the official press release (wdwnews) site barely gets any updates.

Half the Disney blogs would shut down if Disney themselves did a good job of cataloguing what's happening in the parks.

It's actually just three days now. It soft opens on Saturday night after D23 Expo is done for the day.

I can hear the stampeding herd of Expo goers now....rushing over to the Park to get a look.
'Moooo'....

Heaven help anyone there that night.
It is going to be utter chaos attendence wise with every Local APer, blogger, Twit, and Expo attendee packing the place to 'be the first' to see it.

I'll just sit here in my comfy chair with my popcorn and watch it all go down from 3,000 miles away.
;)
