falling characters

I also don't find people getting hurt funny.

It may be OK for these performers to laugh at themselves in retrospect, but it's not OK for others to laugh at their misfortune.

lol... you've got to be kidding me. It's plenty OK to laugh at their misfortune, and I believe there are about 100 TV shows that live off of laughing at people's misfortunes (even if they get hurt).

I also enjoy laughing at some of the uppity responses that get posted in threads like this. Like when the morality police try to tell us what it's OK to laugh at... I can laugh at whatever I please.

Did anyone find it funny when Pluto fell a couple of years ago during the parade at the MK? He was run over by a parade float and killed. Did you laugh then?

Someone always has to take it to the extreme and compare apples to our oranges. Come up with a better argument than that please.

If they were doing it on purpose as a joke then yes it could be funny, but this is not. I do not find it funny when someone could be injured or hurt.

Most guests have no idea what some of the characters have to deal with....like walking out on set and someone coming behind you and beating you with an open fist and then falling to the ground or how about when guests decided to throw a certain character into the water....oh yeah hilarious.

Some jobs have particular risks to them. Stilt walkers and "Devine" actresses are very aware of the chance of fall. They accept this possibility.

The other falls certainly didn't appear to be serious. Nobody's laughing about people being hurt, just the mishap.

Concerning Pluto being killed. That was a ridiculous comparison! Lighten up.

OT a bit but did anyone ever see the guy on youtube that had the classic cylinder phonograph record on an antiques road show type of show. he was talking about it and how old and expensive it was and then somehow crushed it to smithereens inhis hands and just said "Oh, s***" but not very alarmed just matter of factly. Now that was funny.:king::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

Um... Who the heck would want to watch a guy get run over by a parade float (besides those sickos into snuff films and such)? Why would anyone want to watch that, knowing the outcome? Is there even a video of it (I hope not!!!)? From what I understand, all those friends of the characters didn't die as a result of their misshaps, correct?

Why bring this up?

^ This is the one where I really feel bad for the cast member. ^

Granted, Pluto never should have been chasing the kid like that.
But, I think the actor/actress just got caught up in the fun and probably thought they were putting on a great show for the crowd.
Only to be confronted by the angry Mom. (And you can't blame her)

This poor actor falls on their ____, walks away in shame, and probably ended up losing their job.(If not, I guarantee he/she never wore a character costume again)

That was the hardest one for me to watch.:dazzle:

You may think it's funny. But I happen to know that Mike hurt himself pretty badly.

Perhaps you missed joanna's response.

Yes you can, I guess it's all a matter of how you were raised.

Your comparision of this unfortunate incident to Mike W falling is even funnier then the act of Mike falling itself. No one wants to see anyone get seriously hurt or killed.

Put down the glass and step away from the Pixiedust Juice!!

Actually, Pluto was not playing along. He was really mad, because of what the kid did (although, I don't think he should have gone about it in that way). From what I've heard though, Pluto is still there.

Exactly

I mean, man, last time I was at WDW there was this kid, like 6 years old, and she had this ice cream cone, and she was eating it and not looking. BAM! she tripped over the curb and fell right on the cone. Mashed all up in her shirt. She was not hurt bad, just a slightly skinned knee. My kids and I laughed so hard we almost split our sides.

Good times, Good times.
