The one with Baloo seems random and somewhat typical. I did LOL at that one.
The rest, well, not as much.

I found them all pretty funny! You sticks in the mud need to lighten up. I bet all of these performers think it's funny looking back at it. Thanks for posting![]()
No, it's not just you.
And I 2nd that.
:wave:Me too.
Not sticks in the mud..just people who do not find other people falling and who may be hurt funny..:shrug:I found them all pretty funny! You sticks in the mud need to lighten up. I bet all of these performers think it's funny looking back at it. Thanks for posting![]()
It is not okay at all...granted they may look back later and laugh or they may laugh at the moment out of embarrassment like many people do when they trip or fall in front of people but they could be hurt and in my opinion it is not funny at all.I also don't find people getting hurt funny.
It may be OK for these performers to laugh at themselves in retrospect, but it's not OK for others to laugh at their misfortune.

No...Oh wait .. I get it!!
If it were a Bugs Bunny falling over at Six Flags or Spongebob tripping at Universal it would be hysterical. I got it now!! What was I thinking???![]()
I haven't seen any of these videos. I'm just curious, though, how many of you who say that laughing at them is wrong, laughed your butts off watching the same exact thing happen to other people on America's Funniest Home Videos?
I know there will be the "but it's different" excuse, but is it really?
And before I get bashed, I have fallen down many times (I'm a clutz[SP?]) sustaining injuries in the process and laughed about it not even a minute later. Just wanted to throw that out there before someone says something to the effect of "me being in their shoes."
A character such as DeVine who stands on stilts falling lets say 6ft or so to the ground, and me tripping up the stairs because I'm a clutz are two different situations.
For the record: No I did not laugh when people would fall on Americas Funniest Videos, instead I wince at the sight of it.
I can understand DeVine. I do remember seeing one of the parades durring the day when I was younger (early 90's) and a stilt-walker fell right in front of me. He was hurt (he was slightly limping off the parade rout to go back stage w/out aid) but he laughed it off. Not because he wanted to "show that he was ok" but because he made a joke about what just happened.
But you did watch AFV, falling people or not, right. Did you laugh at anything on that show? If not, why watch?
For the record: I'm not defending anyone who said the characters falling was funny. Just asking a question.
