OH, so this isn't a showbuilding? (top middle of the pic)

And is the Japan pavillion hollow inside?
The area to the right, off the edge of that photo, is just the originally planned load building for Rhine River. The show building was to be built behind that. Do a search of these forums for aerail pics of what would have been ;)

And yes, the Japan showbuilding has been there since 1982. Empty of an attraction and used for storage, workshops and dance/parade rehersal I believe.

That's the roof for the inside of the restaurant. There is space above the ceiling to reach lighting and HVAC equipment. The features on the outside are made smaller to make the building look taller.

The show building in Japan is used for storage of maintenence equipment.

I'll reiterate: it's huge. ;)

I'm starting work at Epcot tomorrow, so if there is any non confidential stuff I can dig up, I shall let everyone know. (I'm gonna be a CM at Mission: Space)

^ Not quite sure I would have announced that..... Just make sure you don't loose your job just because you wanted to find things out.

Indeed. You don't want to advertise that and take the chance of getting fired your first week on the job.

blah blah blah, ya. Delete that. Disney probably reads this website, and if they know your intentions is digging up info then they won't be happy.

Raven, make sure you edit your quote and thrill I hope you edit your post.

Took a trip to EPCOT yesterday and I have a few notes and some pics from my journey:

- I did go on LWTL. It surprisingly had a 20 minute wait. There were new boats, but other than it was the same.
- Crowds were very minimal yesterday. I'd say due in part half b/c of the super bowl and half b/c it was pretty windy out causing it to feel cold.
- Did not make it to Italy to see about the new restaurant. Actually stopped right before there to get on the boat and go back across.
- Got to try the new IBM video game thing in innoventions. It was actually very fun. It tells you to jump, run in place and do a victory dance. Then, you get to go over and play an arcade style game where it puts you in the game. It takes you through a series of levels, until you reach the end. Overall I tought it was pretty neat. Sort of TRON-like in terms of being placed into the game.
-Directional signs were being worked on near Inno East (or was it west?)
Here is just a couple pics from yesterday

What looks to be a completed sign.

Thanks for the update. I did read that preparations for the F&G show have began, due to the earlier start date this year....

Yep,that's for F&G. That's where a flower stripe with a unique pattern goes.

What were they doing with the signs?

I'm kinda curious about that as well, though I really don"t know why. I guess it's because I'm wondering what was so urgent that they had to address the situation in the middle of the afternoon and not later at night?

And that is Innoventions West, BTW.

What were they doing to the sign? And I am starting to think that they ARE being recoulored...The one worked on was purple and gold, the new one was more blue. Good sign.

And yeah, not sure as to what they were doing to the sign. Didn't stick around to try and figure it out since I was with my family.

Most of this stuff is done on 3rd shift unless it's a safety issue then they take care of it right away if they can. Maybe something broke.
