Eyes on EPCOT Center

It's a line that's supposed to be avoided, regardless of your attempts to justify the need to introduce politics into these discussions..

Why do I get the feeling you don't like me anymore?

You are wrong. Future World deals with science and climate which is the context it is being presented. This is an Epcot thread. It's too bad some want to silence the conversation by throwing out the "political" straw dog. I'll discuss it in the context of science but nice try anyway. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go dig out.

Nope. $$$

Sorry, but I'm not so sure. I'd bet they could light the church for a few thousand dollars. Just for the night time aesthetics and not Illuminations. It would be a beautiful addition to the evening World Showcase atmosphere. And they light many other iconic structures but not that one. There is so much to be gained from such a relatively small investment especially by Disney terms. So "money" does not seem to me to be a logical reason for it's lack of lighting. Especially since it was once lit.

Just because it doesn't seem like a logical reason to you does not mean that it doesn't seem like a logical reason to TDO.

Jt, you know with you my apathy is only matched by my indifference....

And if you want to intriduce some discussion on climate change, swell. But what you put forward was another discussion of the Copenhagen summit, and the controversial emails and their supposed debunking of the effects of climate change. More than a small difference. And wrapping yourself around the flags of the WS nations with your hands raised doesn't work either. Not when you've supplied so much political input before such as the rants about Disney taking over the world through RFID, or the "Chicago style" politics that would dominated the HSR funding. It just doesn't fly with you past history.....

Just keeping it real and in context. Always in context.

And I have been holding my opinion on RFID lately while awaiting the press event news. Then I'll have plenty to say pro and con. The HSR funding speaks for itself. Water under the bridge. If you want to start a climate discussion in chit chat I'll be glad to continue the discussion there.

The point, Jt isn't that you've been holding your tongue on RFID or that HSR is now water under the bridge. It's your willingness to bring politics into these boards on a regular basis.

It's just not true. Only discussions where politics or current news stories warrent it and add to the discussion are undertaken here. In fact, Communicore used to have a real time computerized polling attraction that dealt specifically with current events and people's opinions including political ones. Everything here is in that context.

It wasn't the last time I was there or perhaps they were not maintained. But it has been a couple years since I was there.
I see. All the roof overhangs have orange strip lights underneath them, creating an illuminated outline of the roofline at night.

I *think* they only light during regular park lighting. Pavilion lighting changes after ROE into a postshow mode, when most of Norway goes dark since the show lighting is primarily used.

By itself, yes, but never for IllumiNations. And I think that it's wholly money based. Team Di$ney Orlando does not see the benefits.

But they evidently see the benefit in lighting all the other icons. Which just seems contradictory to the whole Illuminations presentation. But maybe that will be one of the changes since we are seeing quite a few these days.

The thing is...they SAW the benefit. They added those lights to the Pavilions in 1988.
