Eyes on EPCOT Center

Sounds like a good enough reason to go to the park on Sunday.

I'd always thought some kind of sign up there would be good. My idea was to fill in the gap in the overhang with a large screen that would serve as both directional signage and a tip board.

Yeah, and it should be HIGH RES, not the crap that we see now that's incredibly low-tech.

Seriously, Epcot Execs, go to Mitsukoshi, go upstairs to Tokyo Dining....THAT'S what the screens should look like...find a way to cover it/make it weatherproof and you'll be all set...I mean the idea isn't that far, Its in your OWN PARK!!

Thats true. Those LED tip boards they currently have are an embarrasment to the concept of "Future World." They must have gotten a good deal on them or something.

Totally agree, very low tech. They may as well have Vanna out there flipping the numbers around as the times change.

I've always wanted to see the CCore buildings covered entirely in screens....

Yet, they cancel LoW. Cancel the Obsolete Tip Boards, I say!

Never said it was fact. :) I believe that you assumed that. My apologies.
Ooh. I did not know that. Is this the show? Can't wait to see it....

Regardless, that's fine. That really doesn't change the mood of MK where Music does, but it should. "It's Christmas in the Magic Kingdom" fits the park, where "Christmas in the Future World" kinda of detracts from the intent of that section of the park.

Yep, and it's a good show, but when you watch it, it's clear that it's a holdover/designed for the Year of a Million Dreams.;)

While that is neat & all, why cover up the CCore buildings with the screens?

Because it would kick so much you know what.

It's the "Future" that Epcot is severely lacking...look at the hottest tech cities, Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York, they have screens and lighting etc. on their buildings that are waaaay beyond what we get at Epcot right now.

Yes. EPCOT's FW should be SPARKLING at night. :D Not in a Las Vegas or Times Square kind of way, which is beautiful in it's own right, but in a subtle, techie, glowing sort of way. :D

It's a rough thing to do and to describe, but it's been done.

Look at Disneyland's SM.

Because it would be freeeeeaking awesome.

And it would fit the theme very, very well. Very techy, too.

I give that. It is futuristic and fits theme well.

But I just hope it isn't overdone, if you know what I mean...

And something unique, like the Radox blocks in UoE. :D

:lookaroun:lol:

EPCOT of 1982 was more futuristic than Epcot of 2009. In some ways.
