I have to disagree, the music of the park is what solidifies it's theme.
Listening to X-Mas Music makes no sense in FW, seeing it's not ChristmasLand:shrug::lol:.
:sohappy::lookarounOh for Pete's sake...Disney's ALWAYS changed to Holiday Music in the main areas. Some of us hear the Main Entrance loop all the time and welcome the holiday loop...It's the holidays for pete's sake, just don't think about "Main Entrance Loops" on your vacation of all times.
Perhaps Russell Brower should give a try on holiday songs next year for EPCOT...The reason FW music fits in FW is because it sounds like Epcot. There's no reason Christmas music can't be modified and arranged to sound like Epcot...
Was this the purple spinner near the Electric Umbrella & Mouse Gear breezeway?A spinner on a whirlygig was missing.
I love the waffling.
Sorry about the confusion. I think it's the arrangment of the song that really matters. I think we all agree that Frank Sinatra singing Jingle Bells doesn't belong in Epcot, however it might work nicely on Hollywood Blvd, where as Manheim Steamroller might clash with the theme of HB, but there arrangments of Christmas songs would work perfectly fine in FW.
In other words I don't want traditional sounding Christmas music in Epcot, but I'd have no problem with Innoventions-like Chirstmas music being played all over FW.
Are you coherent? Are you saying there won't be Christmas music in the future?
Please
I again, disagree. They can DECORATE for the Holidays. That ADDS to the atmosphere, not change it, like the music does. There's no Theme in Disney that's "stale". All of Disney Places are living and changing. A lighthearted Christmas loop is perfect for Future World, just like Studios kitschey Xmas tunes are great there too. Even Animal Kingdom gets some world beat christmas songs. Yea, I agree it'd be outta place in Adventureland or inside Mission Space, but the Main Entrence loops are supposed to be cheery and welcoming, even more so when it's a special time of the year. It's that kind of thinking that keeps WDW unchanging and stale. The same thinking that makes ours so much less special during any holiday that makes the other parks so magical...To paraphrase the Rolling Stones, "I shouted out Who Killed the Lights of Winter, when after all, it was you and me."

It returned a few days ago...
As of the 24th it was missing.
Oh, and using this symbol: along with phrases that were relevant 10 years ago among teenage girls ("please") does not automatically make your post insightful, righteous, or clever.

This is the equivalent of taking the score to "Star Wars" (or any other beautifully scored movie) and putting "Jingle Bells" in during a action scene. It changes the connotation that the place has.
Traditional christmas music is out of phase with the theme of EPCOT. Snide comments aside, traditional christmas songs aren't very indicative or symbolic of progress or the future.
Absolutely not...We're just talking about the MAIN ENTRANCE. The Music is important here only in that it be welcoming and encapsulate the feel of the park at the time. During the Holidays it should feel special. Now sometimes I'll agree, like when it was princess music for some reason. Beach Boys during Flower and Garden was perfect though. Same with Christmas music. It's about emotion, not theology...Sometimes it doesn't feel right, sometimes, like Christmas, it does.
Nice to see the Egyptian Duck again!
Muty? :lookaroun Never knew he had a name... :lol:Hooray! Muty is still around - I haven't seen him for awhile. Glad to know he's doing okay.

Interestingly, many WS pavilions did not have many Christmas decorations at all. In fact, I recall Morocco & Japan not having any related holiday decorations. France and Germany were focused on garlands and wreaths. In other words, yes, the decor was dull this year.
