That bottom one was taken in Mouse Gear, which would date it as 1999 or later. I have never seen a photo of that robot before, pretty cool.
It is cool, but the feather boa on its head is a bit distracting... :lookaroun

Voice: "I'm SMRT-1, and I'd like to play a game with you..."

Child: "I need an Adult! I need an Adult!"

Just as long as it's not Santa from the year 3000...

I agree LoW should've been the main focus point for the holidays at EPCOT.

I give you that. Theme first, then holidays. But especially since LoW is gone & now has a small choir with limited shows on Friday & Saturday only, technically FW is at a loss with the Christmas spirit. WS has 11 unique and daily Christmas shows, one in each country, that focuses on the cultural traditions of that particular country & the marvelous tree in World Showcase Plaza, but what does FW have - Christmas merch? :lol: At least the BGM is coherent in a spiritless FW. Oh, and the entrance topiaries do help in a way.

:shrug::lookaroun

Not to sound like scrooge over here, but honestly, I avoid Disney world (and land) during the Holidays because they absolutely DESTROY you with WAY too much holiday spirit. I mean, I love christmas as much as the next guy, but it's absolutely CEASELESS in ALL the parks ALL the time. After one day in that kind of environment, it tends to grate on one's nerves. The holiday music is also completely out of place in Epcot's Future World and destroys any quivering semblance of theme the place has left.

They really should just cut the *** and rename future world "Whatever is Currently Popular and Nonspecific Thrill Ride World of Under-utilized Space"

What are you talking about? The BGM for all of Future World always changes over during the holidays. This is nothing new. :shrug:
I know. I just don't like it.:fork::lol:

I agree in full. The music helps solidify the theme of the land...not the holiday overlay.

Oh for Pete's sake...Disney's ALWAYS changed to Holiday Music in the main areas. Some of us hear the Main Entrance loop all the time and welcome the holiday loop...It's the holidays for pete's sake, just don't think about "Main Entrance Loops" on your vacation of all times.

I like the regular loops,but the holiday did sound nice.

Some quick,not detailed notes. More detail later in a HUGE report.

A spinner on a whirlygig was missing.
The upsidedown fountain needs to be fixed. A couple were not shooting in line with others.

I have to disagree, the music of the park is what solidifies it's theme.

Listening to X-Mas Music makes no sense in FW, seeing it's not ChristmasLand:shrug::lol:.

I kinda think this discussion about Christmas music is a little silly. Should traditional Christmas music be played at Epcot? Certainly not. But something like Manheim Steamroller fits perfectly in Epcot IMHO.

Maybe you could play a Sinatra disk on Hollywood Blvd, and Christmas Carols with an African flair in AK.
The reason FW music fits in FW is because it sounds like Epcot. There's no reason Christmas music can't be modified and arranged to sound like Epcot...

Please explain this statement of yours :shrug:

Sorry about the confusion. I think it's the arrangment of the song that really matters. I think we all agree that Frank Sinatra singing Jingle Bells doesn't belong in Epcot, however it might work nicely on Hollywood Blvd, where as Manheim Steamroller might clash with the theme of HB, but there arrangments of Christmas songs would work perfectly fine in FW.

In other words I don't want traditional sounding Christmas music in Epcot, but I'd have no problem with Innoventions-like Chirstmas music being played all over FW.

I see what you are saying. I disagree however. Classic songs will exist in the future as will traditional Christmas songs and themes. Otherwise it's all just blinking lights and tinsel and noise. :snore:
