Extinct Disney Channel shows

Duck Tales and Chip and Dale rescue ranger were two of my favorites.

For my kids (who are pretty little) the one show my daughter misses is the Sprout show.

Well since most of them in the above posts were more of the former Disney Afternoon/One Saturday Morning...If your talking about Original Disney channel shows I go for these...

Dumbo's Circus
Welcome to Pooh Corner
Mousersize
Donald Duck Presents
Good Morning Mickey
Mousterpiece Theater
The New Mickey Mouse Club (Early 90's Version)
Vault Disney
Any time they had a Sneak-a-peek weekend
And the best show that made it so exciting to go to WDW..Walt Disney World: Inside Out

You have to be around my age group because that's all the stuff I miss. I would just add:

Under the Umbrella Tree
Adventures in Wonderland
Gummi Bears

Mousercise is essentially back. I saw a CGI version of it the other day on Disney Channel.

It is renamed Mickey Mousekercise and is part of the Mickey Mouse clubhouse.
If you had seen the original you'd know this is not anywhere close to the same other than the name. I was excited when I saw that they were 'bringing it back' but was severely disappointed.

Does anyone remember the little song and video they would play "Polka Dots, Checks and Stripes" by Parachute Express? I LOVED that song!

I know it isn't Disney Channel, but it was ABC, I really miss TGIF. With Family Matters, Full House, Boy Meets World, Perfect Strangers, Step by Step... ah the good old days!

Inside Out was just fantastic. Made me love WDW.

One that hasn't been mentioned that I loved to watch in HS...Bug Juice: Our Summer at Camp!

Loved that show and have wondered what happened to all of those kids.

DW and I really do miss and wish they'd bring back the programming from Disney Channel Late Night and Vault Disney.

Kids Inc and MMC!!!!

And i totally forgot Dumbo's Circus until someone mentioned it!!! holy crap i would watch that show till my eyes bled! I even remember the song!

Two I cant remember the names of - they had some Alice in Wonderland live action one and there was some sort of Henson thing with mother goose telling stories - anyone remember either???

Also, gotta love Care bears, and anything that was on Disney Afternoon!!

OH and Flash Foward, Even Stevens and Lizzie!

And fredtom - i totally agree!! i miss all the old Disney stuff!! that was the coolest. i dont understand why they dont play that anymore, or have some extra special channel for it!!!

One thing I always wondered was, why didnt they play stuff like Lizzie, Even Stevens, MMC, Kids Inc or even Flash Foward after the stars of it got big? Some sort of legal thing maybe? It seems like a "duh" to me!

also...not exticnt, but on a side note, i just wanted to say i cant stop watching Im In The Band lol :lookaroun

There really ought to be some sort of Vault Disney channel - hell, at this point, they could have 2 or 3 of them. One with the sort of vintage Disney movies and series people my age grew up watching, a channel of 80s and early 90s era Disney content, from the original Disney Sunday movies ABC used to air to the syndicated cartoons like Tale Spin to the beginnings of Disney Channel content, and a third channel with barely-retro content from the past 15 years. I've written it before, but it breaks my heart that Turner Classic Movies & Starz do a better job paying homage to the man who started the empire than the channels that bear his name .

The New Adventures od Winnie the Pooh, The Wuzzles, Kids Inc, Ducktales,Talespin,Chip and Dale's Rescure Rangers, Gummi Bears, Adventures in Wonderland, Dumbo's Circus, Mousercise. I especially miss the DTV specials and just the short music videos they would have between shows. I go on youtube every now and then to watch some of them. I am also voting for a classic Disney channel. I would probably have it on all day long and I feel it is way overdue.

How do I get the video to show up on this page

I watched the third season of that show and loved it. I was able to catch some of the first season when it was reran the next year. I know that at least 2 or 3 of the kids from the third season of Bug Juice appeared on another show. The other show that they appeared in aired on the Family Channel and was called Switched. I still have most of the third season of Bug Juice on tape and also one of the Switched episodes that had one of the them in it.

I would love to see a DVD release of this show and have included in the extras a where are they now feature.

Some of the other shows I watched were:

So Weird
Flash Forward (love Jewel Staite)
Famous Jett Jackson

This list is nearly perfect; what a blast from the past. I'll add:

  • Gummi Bears
  • Wuzzles
  • Good Morning, Mickey
  • Donald Duck Presents (these were both just half hour programs with classic shorts, but I loved them both - and their theme songs!)
  • DTV (music videos to classic shorts)
  • You and Me Kid (this show was actually terrible, but I remember it fondly because it was so corny )
  • Care Bears

And another random thing I remember from the "free preview" weekends: the weird commercials with "Nancy" in the phone center, who would talk about why you should subscribe to the Disney Channel. There were a few years where we didn't subscribe, and for some odd reason I remember these spots. Although that reminds me of when the Disney Channel didn't have any commercials!

As a side note, I also really miss watching The Wonderful World of Disney every week. Our family would watch together, and growing up in the 80s, this is largely how I got my regular Disney fix, and grew to love the classic movies.

Good times :)

This thread brings back memories. I remember watching Welcome To Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus habitually every morning before going to school when I was little. Donald Duck Presents would come on every afternoon.

Looking back over all the past Disney Channel programming, I probably miss Vault Disney more than anything. It really brought Walt himself back to life every night with him introducing a Spin & Marty or Davy Crockett episode. I loved the Mr. Toad's Wild ride style of intro every night to Vault Disney, showing all the retro classic characters. Working graveyard shift for several years in the middle of the night, it was a nice welcome having Walt on TV.

I would love a 24/7 Vault Disney channel, with nothing but old-school Disney playing all the time.

One thing I think everyone will always remember of the Classic Disney Channel is the Logo Bumpers...My favorite was this one ala Mr. Toads wild ride.
