Expo Hall Meet n Greet Construction

nah the mural is way too close to the CM break room and meeting room for there to be a meet n greet. one reason why they sectioned the mural off was to protect it from the greasy fingers of children who would touch it when that was used as an AP processing waiting area

Certainly hope you are right! :o

Won the Birds, btw. ;)

The 25th Anniversary Welcome Center...

Ah... Don't you just "Remember the Magic". The 25th Anniversary Welcome Center will finally be reused.

I think have the Disney Characters is a good idea. Its a perfect location!

I was in Expo Hall this past December. My wife and I went in their to look at the picture frames... Anyways, to the left of the front counter, you can walk all the way to the back. The theater was there showing cartoons. There was nobody in there. What a waste of power. If you went to the left, there was a curtain. We were sitting there on the phone and saw 3 different families (one by one) escorted behind the curtain. They were told to say "Bibbi Bobbi Bo" so I'm assuming there was a character behind there. The families also had a Make a Wish Button. I thought that was a nice idea for the kids!

the very first thing my family did when we went to the MK for my first time in 1996 was go into the 25th anniversary welcome center, I remember watching the film about the animal kingdom and seeing the model for the tree of life.

I loved the 25th welcome center. I hope they make the new meet n greet really special and classic for Main Street, not just cartoony or plywood flat cheap backdrops.
A 40th anniversary exhibit would have been nice somewhere but guess they wont be aknowledging it too much that way.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if down the road they turn the expo hall into a 50th anniversary exhibit with a new film to be shown in the old walt disney story theater.

And then for HKDL's expansion.:D
Same here. But I just want to see how this thing will look already.

Will the other V.I.P. characters (Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, etc.) be placed in this same new photo location?

I think that if they do that, Town Square could very easily go back to bringing out assorted surprise random characters like they used to.

Lots of references to "the mural" here. Is this the big mural that has like every character in it and is currently located in a backstage area completely hidden a curtain and not even all the cast know about it? I ask because our dear family friends told us about said mural. They referred to it as 'The Wall of Fame". They said it used to be open in a public area and they took pics of their family in front of it on their 1st trip when their kids were little. I'd date these pics at around '85 considering their daughter babysat my oldest when he was a baby. My son was born in '96 & she was 12 or so at that time. On their last trip with their kids last Easter they asked a few cast members if they could look for it and the first couple they asked were clueless. On their last night they found a cast member who showed it to them and they took another family pic. I can get the pic if need be. I'm just curious. I had intended to go find this mural when we were just there but I didn't get the chance.

I thought I was going crazy because I remembered seeing this but coudn't remember what year it was and no one else in my family rememered it. I thought I was making it up!

I remember thinking how cool it was and kinda special seeing concepts of a park that wasn't built yet. Does anyone have pictures of this area from back in 96?
