What do you like about them? Dual loading reduces the wait times and usually gives the ride more throughput. The only downplay is they might have to stretch their budget to theme a larger area.
oh, i was refering to the load and unload being in seperate places......... i wasnt refering to the single load/ unload. yeh, it would make more sense to have dual loading like matterhorn?

but definately the load and unload in different places. leave those type (same location load/unload) "rides" to Six Flags. lol

Agreed, it adds some mysteriousness to the ride not seeing other people get off the ride. It's like it was coming just for you personally get onboard.

With all the detail in the model of the ride vehicle, I was expecting to see how they were going to handle the on-ride sound. Doesn't appear to be speakers in the headrests. Anyone have any information on the location of the speakers?

I havnt yet had any specific info on on-board audio. There is definately audio effects inside the mountain, produced by sound systems inside the show building.

that is exactly my thoughts as well. it bothers me sometimes to witness the "sweathog" that was sitting in my seat, and then the person working at SF is looking at me to load-up and im looking at him with this frightfull look of dispair that id rather skip the ride then to sit in the puddle of funk the other passenger left for me........................... when you dont actually see the other person unloading, all those visual tramatic experiences go out the window. just makes me feel better...................

Thanks!

I'm sure the show effects will be great, but there is something about being immersed in an on-board sound system that really takes the experience to the next level. Hopefully we'll find out more in the near future.

well, sitting in the leftovers of someones projectile vomit isnt the most plaesant experience. it will warp you if you are careful. im borderline between problem and phobia and disorder. LOL

at wdw it isnt bad at all. i never have a problem there. it is just in cheap places like six flags, airports and nasty bars. i havent been back to SF in years................. mainly becuases it sucks!

In this case I am not sure onboard audio is the right way to deliver the sound. I would expect the sounds to be environmental sounds, and effects etc. These work well being delivered from inside the show building (as with Splash) and audible as the train passes through that show scene. Onboard audio is great for delivering a musical score, but I dont think that is going to happen here.

How about in the actual locomotive of the train. Maybe some "chugga chugga stream train" SFX would be a worthy addition?

Right, I know where you are coming from, but the right musical score can be set up to compliment anything. It does NOT have to be "in-your-face" or extreme like RnRC, but environment sounds and a score that ebbs and flows with the plot would be great. Suspense and climax can be greatly influenced by background music.

I agree, I am just not sure we are going to see that with this. I hope I am wrong, I would love onboard audio! :)

About time they released that stuff.....looks good...the trains look much better in model form than the art I had seen.

I'd really love to get a look at that Common Point 4-d rendering of the ride....

The 4-D rendering of the ride is really cool. And, in contrast to the Rock N' Roller Coaster, this ride will be (close to- if not over) 3 minutes long! That's extremely long for a rollercoaster ride.

Right around 3 1/2 min. once you board the trains.
The full experience (going through the full queue, getting the backstory, etc.) is designed to be about 30 min.

I knew it was around that time. The video that I saw was great. It's going to start off slow, but it will pick up soon thereafter. It's going to be a big thrill, and I hope that they extend the park's hours when the attraction opens. Even if the rest of the park isn't open, I can see them keeping Everest, Dinoland, and "It's Tough to Be a Bug" open later- that still may be a struggle, though, being that the park isn't equipped with adequate lighting to stay open long after nightfall.

I dont think they'll have onboard sound if only because the ride vehicle has to go outside and the electronics would need to be waterproof. Seems as if environmental sound is the way they'll likely be going.

How many of these cars are going to be connected to the train? Like with RnRC 8 cars in one train holds 32 some people (i forget the specific number).

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think California Screamin' at DCA has onboard sound and that's an outdoor roller coaster. I'm hoping for onboard sound but won't be that disappointed if its not part of the package.
