Expedition Everest Question!!

Most people I talk to think the backwards section feels like they are going upside down, and I can agree with that. It's a very well done section of track to give that illusion without actually going upside down.

So maybe if i can do that i can do RNRC? Hmmmm we will see, because if i can handle that then i should be able to handle RNRC, i mean i can prolly handle the upside down part its just the take off that scares me

We rode it several times after the Everest Challenge 5k.

TOTALLY different experience at night!

We've been on that ride a hundred times and my wife never has a problem with coasters but after the second ride that night she was done.

Almost a :hurl: moment for her.

That happened to me a couple times. Make sure the lap bar isn't too tight and I haven't had the problem since.

The inside of Everest does actually feel like an inversion. Which really just feels like pressure pushing you down into your seat. (Have a kid sit on your shoulders and that's what it feels like.) So, if you could ride Everest I think you could ride RnRC as well.
And the take off really isn't that bad. Instead of being pushed down in your seat like a loop, you're just pushed back. Plus it only lasts for about 5 seconds.

I have to admit, I kept my eyes closed most of the time when I rode it for the first time last year.
The ride was fine at first, but after it started going backwards, it got really rough.
I was holding on so tight & my legs were pressed so tightly against the lap bar that I had bruises on my thighs!
Once was enough for me.
On the other hand, I love RNRRC, Space Mt, & Big Thunder Mt.
My DH loves EE!

I am not a coaster fan and have tried a new ride that scares me on the next trip, last year I did TT (no way I could have done it in 2008!) and FJ at Uni, had it been around in '08 it would have been a no no! My next project for 2012 was EE! This thread has just put me off! Feeling like I'm going upside down??? No thanks !!!! :hurl:

I'm scared of heights too, but I love this attraction. It has a wonderful view if you get brave enough to open your eyes. For some reason when I got into my 50's I got a little brave. When we went to Disney in 2009, it was the 1st time I opened my eyes on Tower of Terror. Now I don't know why I was so silly all those years and missed the view. Go for it at least once. You will survive and if it isn't your thing don't do it again. If it is you may find yourself in the single line, going over and over again like me.

if you can do TT you can do EE. TT is MUCH worse

Agree. The drop on EE, is high but it curves out quickly on the end, so the perception of "free falling" isn't there as much as it is on Splash, for example. You experience the perception of speed, but to me, it never felt like as much of a drop. I'm guessing the angle is softer, and the curve out at the end have something to do with it.
