Expedition Everest: No strobe on Yeti

The strobe is intentionally off. There is some hope again for a "B+" mode.

Sorry for bugging you about this, but what is "B+ mode"? I'm aware that A mode is apparently something working perfectly as originally intended. And B mode i've heard is the term i hear used for what we've had since it broke (non working, with a strobe light and fan as an optical illusion). But what is B+ mode? Like motion, but not with the full range it was originally designed for (like many AA's on Splash Mountain)?

Thanks for the news either way though, i look forward to it in the future. I would have liked to have seen it when it originally opened, when they even had cold mist in the mountain (which i assume is turned off for good with no chance of being back).

Its a limited movement animation where enough of the figure will hopefully move for good effect without the full motion that could stress the problematic sub structure.

I am really Happy that they could possibly be doing something! to the yeti. It gets kind of sad going with family who have never been there before and at the end I ask them "did you see the yeti!" and they say "you mean the shadow?"......:lookaroun....."nope not exactly!" haha

I see, thank you for that info. Well it's a start at least, i look forward to seeing what comes of this overall. :)

Let me toss this out there...

When you undertake a renovation of your home the only way to get true value from the dollars spent is to actually change something. If you just take out the cabinets in your kitchen and replace it with the same dated configuration with nicer cabinets are you really accomplishing anything? No, your value will only go up in a small percentage if compared to enlarging the area, adding new amenities, and bettering the space.

Same thing here; if it were just fixing what is now a seven year old broken animatronic it would be in some ways disappointing. The fan community would cry "about time" rather then "goid job." Could they be plussing the attraction in some way. Perhaps the fix is more then just maintainence????

I've long hoped that this would be the best way to sell 6 months of downtime. Put in some added effects in the projection room (I doubt my "Kong type shake" change would ever happen) to sell it as enhancements.

Also, I'll warn you in advance of my response to your question on tomorrow's show.

The strobe is intentionally off. There is some hope again for a "B+" mode.

Fingers crossed that there's some sort of improvement.

Update: today, strobes back on, they seemed brighter because it was much easier to spot the Yeti. Yeti's arm is in a different position than before.
