Expedition Everest effects status watch

The yeti was completely still and strobe light only on May the 4th.

No bird as well.

Too many hairbands to count. I wouldn't be shocked if the ride closed down because a clump of hairbands fell on the track and got caught in the wheels. (The ride was down twice that day.)

Face facts, Disney will never fix this. They think its Fine the way it is. Judging by park attendance numbers, Disney is not suffering because of it.

...ahh, the Expedition Everest Hair Bands. I noticed them on the ceiling in the PotC queue last week, of all places. Apparently, they stick to the rough surface.

Expedition Everest didn't open until 2006. It's been 12 years.

Oh that's mental! I assumed it was an opening day attraction.

Anyone know a correlation between when the yeti is completely off or when it’s got strobe lights on it? I feel like it’s completely how the operators are feeling that day. First time I ever rode EE in 2013, the lights were on, but the times I went on last year, they were off.

The Yeti switch has three positions: A mode, B mode and Disco:

At this point I'm inclined to agree. Shame that it has come to that; my accepting the easy way out. But it would be marginally better than the static fig that currently occupies the space, IMO.

If they put in screns they'd still have to shut the ride down to install the feature. If they're going to do that, it would make more sense to refurbish the multi-million dollar animatronic.

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine it is less expensive to repair an effect than it is to develop a new one. Screenz aren't as simple as people think.

I'm almost afraid to ask the question, but... after riding EE last week, the Yeti looks GRAYER than I remember. Is it age? Dust? Burned out bulbs on the disco lights? I'm not sure...

I miss "A mode" Yeti tremendously but the rest of the ride seemed decent (minus the hair bands).

I would much rather see the giant animatronic than screens. Proper lighting schemes and fans to blow the fur around. It is still a very impressing figure when you see it. They just need to improve the timing of the lighting effects so that it happens when the train is there. It seems random now.

I have never seen A mode. I distinctly remember visiting Orlando in Summer 2005 when I had just finished studying. My family got a group of us together in a villa and it was the perfect way to end my University days here in the UK. We had two great weeks.

I can remember looking up in the parking lot at DAK and my whole family seeing the almost complete EE, and we were all in awe of how good it looked. It may have had a few cranes, but even before it was finished it was a fantastic sight. I still think now I've had many rides on it that the entire ride is fantastic, despite A mode being long gone.

I've now been a fair few times since 2015, but still, I had a long break from 2005 - 2015 and I don't know how I handled that!

And overwhelming majority of people, and it's not even close, have only ever seen B mode. That is a problem.
