It's always urban legend and excuses, isn't it?

I doubt the steam is of the 'boiling hot water vapour' kind.
From my understanding it is. Given the bulk of the equipment used to dispense it, I can't imagine how it is not real steam. If it was from a fog machine, all they would need it a retaining tank and a small pipe with an inline fan and valve.

It is real steam, from a real boiler. It is not scalding hot obviously, but it is hot. There's even warning signs next to the track saying "warning: hot steam" that are not there for theming since the steam is supposed to becoming from the engine, not the track.

When I was there on Wednesday July 17....I could barely see the Yeti. Even for strobe lights, he was poorly lit and blended right into the cave itself.

For the longest time I've wondered how anyone could miss it. Now I know.

When I rode EE in May 2011....I could SEE it. The lighting was effective, and while it did have a strobe, the strobe worked to augment the stage lighting on him. It looked like they had a fan blowing his hair around. Despite being in B mode, at least it wasn't a total loss.

July 2013? Meh. He's gone from Disco Yeti to Super-Stealth Camo Yeti.

The last time I was one it, which was 2 years ago (two very longgg years), I didn't even see the yeti... are you supposed to? All I saw was his shadow on the wall before you fall backwards.

Apparently at D23, Joe Rohde said he would do everything in his power to see that the Yeti is fixed.

Can anybody confirm this?

Plus, I thought the Pandoraland developments indicated that Rohde has relatively little actual sway in the company right now, especially when it comes to spending this type of money.

I could see the Yeti when I rode EE for the first time in October 2012. He was in "disco mode," but well-lit enough that I could see him clearly.

I wish he was "working," but the Yeti's broken-down-lameness wouldn't bother me half so much if Disney wasn't still running documentaries and infomercials advertising a fully-functioning Yeti. I saw another one just yesterday.

Oh god it was so awesome. I saw him working in May of 2008. (Wikipedia says he went to B mode "a few months after opening", but that's not quite true, as I rode it twice the week we were there in 08 and he was working on both days)

The movement...to quote from one of the greatest movies of all time:
" I don't remember seeing any legs, but it definitely had arms because it reached out for me."
"Arms? WOW, I can't wait to get a look at this thing!"

The Yeti's reach came out so close to the cars that the combined movement of the train and the monster made it look like you could reach out and touch him.

I saw some sort of Yeti before a drop, but it might have been a screen.

These made me very sad as the yeti was incredibly impressive when it worked. :(

That yeti is a projection just before the main drop.

We're talking about the 22-foot tall animatronic Yeti that used to be the climax of the ride.
