Cost maybe? I’d think it would be more expensive/time consuming to paint it like a rock vs the simpler patterns that now exist?

Because the backside is blocky, like buildings and the color scheme is pleasant without inviting more scrutiny. Painting it like a mountain would look weird. This is non-descript enough where your eye doesn't focus on the non-Disney level look. Your eyes go to the peark.

I have many issues with Everest and its effectiveness. The backside of the building isn't one of them though. It looks perfectly fine. Its not really "on stage."

In my opinion anything from a public accessed guest area is on stage.

The back of Everest is very visible from the Disney buses as they approach DAK.

When it opened, it was very visible from the DAK parking lot but foliage has grown to mostly cover it now.

While I’m ok with the solution... it still should have been a full 360 degree mountain from day 1 in my opinion.
