I went to my Everest Opening Team interview today. Talked with *ATTRACTIONS* managers there, since I used to work at Splash, at length about comparing the two (there isn't any, really ;) ). I am an Attractions Cast (Steam Trains at MK), former trainer at Splash, trainer on Main Street Attractions as well. Spoke to some of the T&A Cast (that's "Test and Adjust" Cast) that have been working at Everest since they got the trains running a couple of months back. The longest drop is 80 feet *in height*. It may 112 feet long, but more than three people at the Expo say that that "big drop" is only 80 feet high.

Got to see pics of where the "mangled track" is at the top; you will be *amazed* at the view of the entire WDW property that the front row of the train will get from that point ;) It will drop at over 60 mph backwards. The ride length is just over 3 minutes on almost a mile of track.
The things they swowed and told you, were for eyes & ears only...
So IMO I think you shouldn't ventilate these things... but you already did...
But I wouldn't call exactly a clever thing, what you just did...

The ride isn't even in the soft fase...

Corrus,

Isnt there some type of oath that you take when you become a cast member? Not only do I ask for this certain case, but I myself just accepted a college program offer and am curious.

Thanks

Don't there's an oath, I myself, signed a NDA, but if there's something like that for the CM's in the park... could be, Never thought about it really...

I only mentioned that to the poster as to my knowledge, he's playing with fire and therefore his Job... There's even a chance this will leak out from these boards... and within days he will be released... such a shame...

Don't know what's getting into people nowadays...

Umm...how can it drop backwards 60 mph when it goes forwards down the big drop? As for the length, it's about 0.8 miles.

Man, I leave for a weekend to come back to the same arguements lol.

Why can't we be happy that it will be opening soon and is a lot better off than the metal shell we were used to seeing for the past year?

Not to mention why would it reach 60 in the helix when it doesnt go all the way to the ground.

Wasn't 55 the top MPH anyway?

With this spilling, I reckon you will be out of a job very soon... (if any)

I think the bigger guarantee is this Jim not being on the Everest team if someone notices he likes to blab around information so easily..

BTW...

The Expedition Everest will be the first ride to use Vekoma's newest track system.
Rather than the rails be on the inside of the ties, they will be on the outside.
To date Vekoma has only used this system on their smaller roller coasters.
This will be the first large scale installation of such a system.

News into me today tells us we have been wrong on major elements of Everest. We have long thought that the drop would be in the region of 80ft. The final footage count is 112 feet!! :-D :sohappy:
