The Mummy at Universal uses a turntable.

The Mummy changes directions twice, the first time it just stops and the switch track moves in place behind you. The second time, when you rotate back to facing forward is when you are on the turntable. I was referring to the switch track portion, not the turntable since as far as I know, EE will not have a turntable, but I could be mistaken on that.

As to AK1990 and what happens if the computer malfunctions, I would expect the ride goes into E-stop if the computer were to malfunction.

And what happens if the computer malfunctions?

Just like on any ride, you will get a ride stop. Then the maintenance people will have to find out what went wrong and reset/repair it and continue running or shut it down and evacuate the people and then repair it.

Welllllll....Cali Screamin has one drop that's straight down 108ft.
Everest, the way I see it, does sort of a double-drop of 112ft.

Kind of like the "double-drop" in Splash.

It's nit-picking, I guess....

I never noticed the double drop in Splash. Just the first one called slippin falls or something like that. Do you mean like the Boss coaster at Six Flags?

Don't know...haven't been on Boss.

The first time you change directions on Mummy the track behind the vehicle moves laterally (like you see it doing during loading). On Everest, the track flips upside down on its axis to reveal a different piece of track underneath it. Hope that helps.

So as far as we know, EE's 112 ft drop is not in one staight motion? I thought Steve said it was.

I have several emails out in an attempt to find that out once and for all.
So far...nothing....

Yen_Sid...what's your take on that?

I'm curious to find out also. Before Thrawn was banned he said a lot of weird "facts" about EE that he claimed was true. He said that EE had a max speed of 55 mph and that it costed only $75 million instead of $100 million. Are these true or false?

From the picture he posted, it isn't one clear motion. It has a straight area right before it exits the mountain, and according to the picture that Thrawn posted, the outside part is 80 feet, so it its a little "double drop".

All speeds and costs that have been thrown around are ballpark estimates. Don't bet money on them.

But...75mil is a bit low.

I agree. He said becuase he had Disney shares or something, he knew exactly how much money was being spent? I still think it's $100 million for the cost.

Well, you just can't tell, until the project is finished...

According to my accounting it should come out somewhere between 95 and (jeez he guessed right) 100 M

But these are just estimates...

If one is not inside "Creative" one will never find out... not even shareholders... there will always be rumors about it... but they'll never find the exact figures... And Thrawn didn't know $h1t (pardon me the expression)
