Expanding the Railroad

How does park hopping increase revenue? The buses are incredibly inexpensive to run compared to what it would cost to build, maintain and operate either a light rail or monorail system. Most conservative estimates put a property wide monorail system well over a billion dollars just to construct. Monorails also have one huge problem...no flexibility. When a monorail breaks down it shuts the entire line down. If monorail expansion would save Disney one cent they would be driving pilings right now.

You are right it is not practical, maybe they should just double the buss fleet but that won't save any money either.

The only thing I can think of is to increase park hopping and guest flow to the parks. With all the parks connected there would be less need for busses. With little or no busses you save on gas, and having to pay all of those bus drivers.

The more I think about it the best solution imo is the monorail. One simple line to connect DAK and TTC would make all four marks connected.
Sorry, I disagree. You would still have to have a lot of buses in fact. From AK Lodge and AK, buses go to all destinations. Adding a monorail to the TTC and making that one of the only ways to get around, you are asking for grid lock at the TTC for passengers. The TTC would have to be doubled or tripled in size. There is no money saving there.

The use the current system for a reason.

The point is the buses are the least expensive, most versatile option available. The buses may not be magical but they work and work well.

What about a boat system that connects DHS and DAK. This would connect every park.
facepalm

EDIT:who would ride a boat from DAK to DHS, then get on a boat to Epcot, walk through the park to the monorail, ride it to the TTC, change monorails to get to MK. Seriously.....

Not unless they put in speed boats. Most of those boat travel around 3-4 mph. At that speed a trip form the TTC to AK would take around an hour of more not including wait time.

Yea I am running out of ideas for you to bat down Yoda

You can't find a flaw in this system however.

Disney can even throw in some corporate synergy there! I hear there's this company, X-S Tech or something along those lines, that specializes in teleportation. It's such a great idea, what could possibly go wrong with it!?
