Expanding the Railroad

You would either have to build an elevated track or build over passes where ever the rail line crossed a road which would drastically increase the price of the project. It would more than likely be less expensive than a monorail but it all comes back to the same thing....return on investment. A light rail system also has all of the same problems that the monorail has.

Thank you Master Yoda, I mentioned earlier this basic statement yet the OP either missed it or chose to ignore it

:lookaroun waiting for this thread to be closed please!!?!?!

Apparently you didn't read his "tear down the Haunted Mansion" thread. It's not a freespeech issue, it's a credability issue.

What I'm wondering is, Who is this kid and why is he allowed to play with his mommys computer?

Sorry, trying to not feed into the "give me more attention" this thread is aimed at, but i had to ask...

I didn't have the pleasure of reading the "Tear down the Haunted Mansion" thread... what was the thought process behind this?

Simply removing the HM and replacing it with a NBC Attraction.

Simple logic.

Also, why does everyone keep saying the 23rd?

There is no logic, well fanboy logic maybe, in tearing down an incredibly successful attraction and replacing it with what at best would work as a seasonal overlay.

Question: Why would it be more logical to tear down one of the most popular rides in the park to build a NBC attraction, when you could just build a NBC attraction without tearing down the Haunted Mansion?

Have you ever heard the term, spend money to make money?

Stop people from thinking/going/riding HM, they turn to go on NBC.

With the attraction not there, NBC gets more guests.

Have you ever hear of New Coke? What you are purposing is equally as insane.

The people have already paid to get into the park. We got rid of ticket booklets a LONG time ago. So how does tearing down an attraction make sense in your "spend money to make money" idealogy?

What you're saying is like saying we should close up and demolish the Magic Kingdom because we need more people to go to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

I'm going to paraphrase here, but Walt had said that our country's best asset was the minds of our youth. I wonder if he would still say that today... :lookaroun

I think monorail expansion is way more likely- and that is not a way to mock you. I really think expanin the monorail would be practical and cost effective since they could lessen the amount of bus use.

Do the math.
Consider all the details.
It's not enough to say 'do this' or 'do that' in a grand, sweeping way.

How many current resorts and bus stops need a connection?
How do you get the new TTA/railroad/monorail system to cover each of those? What about future ones?
What does it cost to build such an elaborate transportation spiderweb across the WDW property?
How would that impact the look of WDW and the environment?
What happens when it rains?
How do you cover peak transportation times vs. normal and slow?
What cost savings are there really- less busses for instance and more monorail means more monorail cost, not less costs overall.

Projects that are presented in a professional manner to company management, in any company, have to be well thought out and have to address all the details, good and bad, large and small. They have to be thoroughly justified.
