Trip Report Everything Is Just So Peachy Keen! *COMPLETED*

It certainly was for us Georgia peaches this last week! For those who may be new here, let us introduce ourselves. We are Tuvalu and Em, a mother-daughter duo who love traveling together to Walt Disney World. We take multiple trips per year (this was our third for 2022) and for us, time spent at our resort is just as important to us as time spent in the parks. Slow-paced relaxation is vital to us!

I’m sure this laid-back vibe is what draws people to cruises: pools, bars, a variety of restaurants and activities from which to choose . I can’t do ships. But I can happily “land cruise” at WDW!

Hope you decide to follow along and learn about the surprises on our most recent voyage.

When: July 20-27, 2022
Where: Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resorts

Both of us were getting hungry but we didn’t feel like fighting the evening Epcot crowds. A meal back at the resort sounded perfect.

As we made our way along the World Showcase promenade I noticed a PP photographer near Canada, homeland of several of my Magician friends.

I made Em stop for pics.

Remy had apparently strayed from his homeland.

I think this Magic Shot is cute.

I know it’s August (not exactly soup weather) but after I posted the picture above, I wanted a bowl of Le Cellier’s famous Cheddar Cheese Soup.

Lucky for me ~ not only do I have the recipe (which makes A LOT) but I remembered I had frozen some the last time I made it.

So dinner for Woody and me is now on a slow simmer. :hungry:

We got to try Guardians for the first time a few weeks ago. I thought it was awesome! DD5, did not. She called it “the terriblest ride ever!” My mom also rode it, and thought it was a really cool ride, but it did make her nauseous. She can do FoP, but not Everest. Thunder Mountain is her favorite. I hope you someday hit the ride at the ideal moment and love it without feeling sick!

While on our stroll back to the resort Em perused quick service menus for both Yacht and Beach.

Beach Club Marketplace was the winner.

What gave Beach the edge over Yacht was the ability to dine in the Solarium. This pretty spot is a favorite of ours.

Our rotisserie chicken dinner may not look very appealing, but boy was it good! We weren’t the only guests who thought so, as we got the last one.

Dessert was even better. Em had spied it in the refrigerated case.

A cookies and cream trifle.

I had a spoonful of trifle in my mouth when Em blurted out, “a layer of peas and onions…”

I almost choked! :joyfull:

For those unfamiliar with the Friends reference, Rachel made what she thought was an English Trifle:

Ours did not. Ours was DELICIOUS!!!

We ended Day 1 here. We didn’t NEED to see “the fireworks”.

Love the solarium in Beach Club! This brought back memories of Toni and I hitting it up for breakfast everyday way back when.

I've never been to the Solarium but after all these great pictures, it seems like I'm missing out!

I also am a huge fan of Living with the Land. They really have done a great job lately with getting that attraction themed to whatever's going on in EPCOT whether it be Food & Wine, Flower & Garden, Christmas. It's one attraction I hope they don't touch.

We'd met for the first time in July 2017. Both @fractal and I were live trip reporting and intended to keep our planned meet-up quiet, until we could post the reveal for those following along.

Enter @Zipadeelady.

(Sorry T ~ this was too good not to mention AGAIN! ;) 😆😘)

We'd been outed. Yet it didn't make our meeting any less fun!

We've had a breakfast or two in the Solarium over the years too!

I too have fond memories of the solarium.

Met one of my favorite people there and waited out an absolutely bonkers thunderstorm with her and The Tone!
Em and I have also sat out a thunderstorm in the Solarium. ⛈️
And @Darstarr would be a great person to hang out with there! (I'm sure The Tone would be too, I've just not met him.)

Should you find yourself at the Beach Club, the Solarium is worth a peek!
And I agree about LWTL. Love the seasonal updates.

We love the Solarium and always find the time to relax in there!
It's on the list for our next couples meet. ;)

It happened.

The first morning early awakening at WDW because I was so excited to be there.

How early?

4:30 am.

Now I’m an early riser by nature but 4:30 is even too early for me. I tried going back to sleep, resisting the urge to toss and turn as not to disturb Em. After an hour I gave up, got up, and moved to the leather chair to read.

Another hour later Em and I finished breakfast al fresco. She confirmed that the resort music begins to play at 7 am and that the Friendship boats begin to make their way to their respective docks shortly before then.

Last July, my father in law had the opposite room - far left in the top photo - awning just above the pergola - and I was so jealous of his view! (And am so envious of your view as well!). That trip, all of our rooms were on that hallway and I loved it - so close to the lobby! And I didn’t get lost in the resort 😂 which has maybe happened to me once or twice trying to find my room at YC.

Thursday, con’t

Twenty minutes later (it’s a SLOW BOAT) we were here.

C290CE8E-09EF-46E1-96F4-0778B8F82D76.jpeg

Still 13 minutes before Early Entry. That should be plenty of time for us to get thought the tapstiles, right?

Not even close.

Once we were inside, Em and I walked as quickly as possible to our first destination. The picture below was taken at 8:06 am. We had a ways to go to reach the entrance end of the line for Rise of the Resistance. As we passed through the tunnel, we knew we were in trouble as guests were already queued up in there.

3756E410-B91F-4DE6-BBE6-08145871CF18.jpeg

We found the CM holding the "End of The Line" sign and fell in behind her. Many female teens were already running out of the ride exit, huge smiles on their faces, anxious to reunite with their friends. (Yep, international tour groups have returned.)

It's only ten minutes past eight, how did they experience Rise so quickly? I thought to myself as we inched along in the area outside the official ride queue. Lightning Lanes are not in use during Early Entry.

We zig-zagged through the tunnel and instead of heading back up towards the Rise entry (our experience on previous trips), we went through an archway labeled Cast Members Only and wound up in the extended queue for Muppet Vision.

It was almost 8:30 am when we FINALLY entered the real queue.
