Trip Report Everything Is Just So Peachy Keen! *COMPLETED*

It certainly was for us Georgia peaches this last week! For those who may be new here, let us introduce ourselves. We are Tuvalu and Em, a mother-daughter duo who love traveling together to Walt Disney World. We take multiple trips per year (this was our third for 2022) and for us, time spent at our resort is just as important to us as time spent in the parks. Slow-paced relaxation is vital to us!

I’m sure this laid-back vibe is what draws people to cruises: pools, bars, a variety of restaurants and activities from which to choose . I can’t do ships. But I can happily “land cruise” at WDW!

Hope you decide to follow along and learn about the surprises on our most recent voyage.

When: July 20-27, 2022
Where: Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resorts

The only ride we've ever been evacuated from in WDW. Not so cool if you're squeamish about heights. 😬
Wouldn’t have bothered us at all!

Although you posted a pic from the outlets… did she get down there for a quick getaway? And I’m hoping your annual Spring Break trip is still planned?
Em saw the outlet picture on Twitter.
No plans yet for Spring Break….which also happens to be Easter Week…..again. :bored:

Was everything just so peachy keen?

Stay tuned.
I love Woody's t-shirt! Is that a recent purchase? Might need one for MyBob.

Woody had been looking forward to our “end of summer relaxation trip” since the summer began. He had patiently watched Em and I leave twice (June & July) and today it was finally his turn.

We drove through Dunkin’ for coffee (his favorite coffee shop wasn’t open) and traveled a couple hours before stopping for breakfast at our usual place.

Chicken, egg and cheese biscuits always hit the spot!

We fueled up after eating. Five hours later, this welcome sight came into view.

Our original itinerary had us arriving tomorrow. But six weeks ago I’d added today, for a reason I will disclose soon. Chosen for its location (and generous AP discount), we were about to sample a new-to-us resort for a land cruise.

I think the decorative RR atop the tower is tacky. It has always reminded me of this —

Thus I was uncertain if I’d find our room to be a bit over the top, if you know what I mean.

We’d received our room number text so I was about to find out.

Yes! I thought the same thing when I saw the RR 🤣

Not gonna lie. Woody and I were initially disappointed that we were given a first floor room.

It’s a ginormous tower! What were the odds?!!

However we learned that first impressions are often wrong. We ended up loving our location. It was convenient to our car (no Bell Services necessary), the Skyliner, the pools and quick service dining. And no waiting on elevators!

We entered the resort via a lower level door (steps from our room as we would discover) so we did not experience the lobby until later. I took a lot of pictures of our studio villa since I know several of you enjoy room pics. The room door opened into a good-sized foyer with a large closet. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of it.

The queen bed was on a platform with drawers for storage. Nightstands had charger outlets.

There was additional storage in the coffee table. (And look….a coffee table book!)

I’m rarely comfortable in the chairs that accompany the small tables in WDW resort rooms, but these were great!

The sofa was cozy and disappeared completely when the Murphy bed was open.

My first attempt at pulling down the Murphy bed resulted in this.

Yup, that was as far down as I could get it. Of course it didn’t help that I was laughing at my ineptitude!

When Woody returned he moved the throw pillows and pulled the mattress down with ease.

The second Murphy bed was under the TV. I mastered that one on my own!

I found it interesting that the IP included Tangled, 101 Dalmatians and Minnie Mouse. Was there a hidden connection I was missing?

Lovely overhead light fixture but we missed having a FAN. The a/c shut off during the night for lack of air movement and we woke up hot.

More pics to follow!

The split bathroom was odd in that there was only one sink and one toilet, but two showers.

The stall shower was awesome. It even had a marble bench. (And hot water 😉).

But the most odd (or awkward) feature of the bathroom were the three pocket doors, two of which opened into the hallway. At minimum two of the doors needed to be closed for privacy. I couldn’t imagine a family of 4 or 5 sharing this bathroom for more than a couple days.

The Kleenex and TP were embossed.

Fancy or tacky? You decide.
