Its a possibility. Very slim but possible. I would call ahead and have them note the celebration in the reservation.

I was once upgraded from Caribbean Beach to a Lagoon view at the Beach Club, but it was a night stay in late August which is a very slow time of year.

Good Luck and enjoy your Honeymoon!

I took my godkids for their first trip in 2007. We got upgraded from a regular room to concierge level at the Beach Club. I'm still not sure why, but it was nice!

My wife and I went to BCR for our honeymoon last September and we received an upgrade. When we got there they already knew that we were on our honeymoon (I guess our travel agent told them?) and had everything ready.

Also, not sure if all the lagoon view rooms are as big as the one we were in. We had two balconies plus a third door with a little fake balcony off of it.

My wife and I back in 2003 were going to stay at Carribean Beach for our
honeymoon, when we called Disney and told them of our celebration, they had put us on hold and came back with an upgrade to Animal Kingdom Lodge. This was also during a slow time for Disney.
Call them it doesn't hurt to try. Have a great trip and congratulations!!!

My Hubby and I received an upgraded room at AKL when we were celebrating our 5th Anniversary in 2003, but nothing when we got married at there in 1998 (GF) or our 10th Anniversary in 2008 (WL) so I think it's very luck of the draw.

Free room upgrades can be pretty rare these days. Most of the resorts are operating at close to 100% capacity and by policy free upgrades are only given due to operation needs of the resort. In the past, especially post 9/11, the resorts were darn near vacant and free upgrades were thrown around quite a bit. About the only thing you can do is make sure that you list honeymoon on your celebrations and hope for the best.

IF it's noted on your reservation (and any ADR's you make), and IF you drop a hint at checkin, you MAY get a card from Mickey/Minnie and a balloon in your room....and possibly special treatment at meals...

IF you ASK for the Honeymoon buttons and wear them EVERYWHERE, you will probably get attention from most CM's and some guests during your trip.

We've been upgraded from woods view to courtyard view rooms a couple of times at WL and from a standard savannah view room to a deluxe savannah view room at AKL once.

we were upgraded from a standard woods room at WL to a Honeymoon Suite with full conceirge service on one of our trips. We didn't have any celebrations going on or anything!

Getting a $700/night room for only $225 was pretty much fantastic!

In all of our many trips to the World we have only been upgraded once and it was because our requested room was not ready when we arrived (at the WL). We were told we could wait to check in or be upgraded to a courtyard view, of course we took the upgrade. It has since become our favorite room and we now request that when we stay there.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and may you have many, many years of happiness together!

Yeah the years following 9/11 is when I got my upgrades.

That sorta happened to us a few years ago. 3 years ago, we booked a single night at the Contemporary Tower, so we could see the castle and fireworks. I actually did it over the phone and told them it was for our anniversary. The night before we were scheduled to check in, I pulled the reservation from the website and noticed that the room had been changed (the description). I decided to ask when we checked in the next day and did not call that night.

When we checked in, they informed us that we had been upgraded to Concierge Level, hence the room change! What a fantastic surprise for us... it was a fantastic room, great surprise, and we had a wonderful time!

So it does happen, usually during the down periods (we stated the first half of May), when available... Dreams do come true!

The only "upgrade" (if you want to call it that) we've ever gotten was this past January. When I booked our AKL club level rooms (for the in-laws & us) they didn't show any availability the 1st two nights of our stay. The plan was to stay 2 nights w/Savannah View then change for the rest of the stay to club level. When we checked in we were told we had those 1st two nights upgraded to club level. I don't think this made any real difference for the resort as far as room location goes. We were on the 4th floor & the "club* is on the 6th floor. It's my understanding that the 6th floor rooms are the ones that were converted to DVC so all "club level" resort guests are on lower floors with lounge access via the gold key. They gave us the club access for 2 more nights and we never had to move.

Have had upgrades at both WDW and Disneyland

We visit both WDW and DL regularly and receive upgrades at DL much more often. One time we reserved a suite and were upgraded to the Ambassador Suite - WOW - it had more bathrooms than our house! ... and fresh orchids and a 6 foot diameter dining room table ...

Upgrades are totally dependent on capacity or the resort and the capacity of the room type you are booked in, but make sure you get your honeymoon on your reservation because if they do have to make an upgrade they will choose those celebrating special occasions first.

Also get the buttons when you check in and wear them, it's fun and the CM's do have some latitude to provide perks to those celebrating.

I've always found that the perks are given to the guests that are there enjoying their stay and having fun, and not to those that go sniffing around for them.

Not on my honeymoon. Not when they lost my reservation. Not when my room was infested with bugs. Not when disney changed its payment option and I had to pay the trip in full 6 months early. Nope. No disney love whatsoever. Once, just once, I was given a cookie for wearing my anniversary button...

The same thing happened to my sister on her honeymoon in October of 2002. She was told they were doing construction at the CBR and upgraded them to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have been going for 11 eleven years and never given an upgrade, I keep hoping.

I was upgraded from standard view to theme park view at the GF last year. This year at the WL they tried to put me in a first floor handicap room so I went to the front desk and told them I refused to stay in that room and I ended up in one of the bear face rooms.
