Heyaeverybody! Time for a Magic Kingdom Update! Lots of newsbits and phototrons to get too, so let's get started!

MAGIC KINGDOM

-Firstup, the WDWMagic Magic Kingdom meet was lots of fun! Kudos to SweetMagic and EPCOT.nut for a great meet and ultra-fun Trivia Contest! (And big thanks to whomever bought/gave the old WDW Souvenir book that I won! My family has three big shelves of old WDW souvenir books and we don't have this one! That's pretty hard to do when we have so many!)Anyways, it was tons of fun and I can't wait to do it again sometime!

-The New Liberty Square Bridge is open now, though they are still working under and around it. It's totally flat now, and is a much lighter color. (Sorry, only one picture. The rain came and made it impossible to take pictures of due to the fact I was umbrella-less!)

-I spotted an interesting new tall streetlight in Tomorrowland.

-Weather was nice in the morning, but rainy in the afternoon.

-Crowds were light in the morning, but it was packed by the time I left.

-The crane is back working on the castle.

-The Pirate trying to get on the boat is missing his toppeling hats.

-Space Mountain broke down, and I have lights-on shots from the Peoplemover!

OK, that's it for that.

And now: More of this!

Enjoy!

WOW Bridge done!

It is amazing what they did in 7 days. We were there last week and they were working on the bridge but There was nothing there...just starting on working on the the new bridge. But no real progress. Now only if local road work could be done the "Disney way"

Seriously. Bridges around here take years and years to build. Granted they're much bigger and have to handle more weight, but still. I guess if the government was financing the project it would have taken much longer!

Thanks for the update, maybe I'll go to MK tomorrow (my last day) just to see the new bridge.

Wow, I didn't notice before how SM breaks down a lot. Every day that I've gone to MK, it's broken down at least once; I was on it when it broke down on Tuesday. The lights went on, and the right side of the track stopped running. Lucky for me, I was on the left, so I got my first lights-on SM ride (and they gave everyone re-ride passes)! Then, I obviously had to jump on the TTA so I could take pictures (but most didn't turn out well).

Merf, is that you??? Did they fix the lower bolt in the door of the 3rd stall from the left in the men's bathroom in Fantasyland??

Wait...are you accusing me of being Merf?

Sarcasam to get across a point that I'm now a new "Merf"?

Or are you just joking?

Because I can go and ask him himself for a sworn statement that I'm not him, he'd be happy to do it.

Due to the design of the ride system and brake zones, the CM working unload has to keep the rockets moving through the unload station. There are only about 3 hold-points before the actual unloading point. And if they're running a 21-second dispatch, that means that a single rocket sitting at unload for 90 seconds will cause a cascade E-stop on that side. (Because that side loses places to "park" a rocket at the end of the ride, and stops all rockets still out on the course.)

It doesn't even have to be one single slow-to-unload rocket. It could be a few in a row, and little-by-little the trains back up. If the unloader can't push the rockets through to ease the "backlog", they'll cascade. So if you're ever at the unload platform and you see the rockets stacking up, you know that they're very close to an E-stop. (And this also makes you appreciate the unloader's job a bit more, and makes you make sure to get out of the rocket as quickly as you can next time)

Thanks for yet another informative and entertaining update! Especially enjoyed the COP comments. :ROFLOL:

Sorry...moment of negativity here...

It's just too early for Fall decorations! I love them, but geez at least wait until it's actually Fall to put them up. I just have a thing about the holidays and seasons being exclusive to the time they actually occur.

A guest or two taking a long time to get into the rockets at Load will also delay clearing the Unload area. Also the Unload CM cannot move the rockets until all guests are beyond the yellow line.

Thanks for the cool update and the COP pictures. I haven't been on COP in years, so it brings back some memories., but it also makes me realize how dated it is.
