Here is the schedule for World Showplace on Oct. 1 :

11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: Journey into Imagination – with Tony Baxter Join Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Vice President Tony Baxter on a trip through the creative process, exploring many of his projects conceived for Epcot. This journey culminates in a trip down memory lane as we explore the design and evolution of the Journey into Imagination pavilion and its lovable mascot, Figment.

Now I really wish I could be there.

Apparently so. I understand exclusive items, but it still sucks.

I wonder if this merchandise is going to be exclusive to guests or if they can be ordered through Mouse Gears. They haven't made any additional announcements since July.

Must Epcot (or any theme park for that matter) be rededicated every 5 years going forward? Not sure I understand that. Leave that to the Silver, the Golden, and the Diamond Anniversaries...

This is being down largely by D23, I have absolutely no problem with them handling anniversaries every 5 or 10 years.

I like commemorating anniversaries every 5 years. A logo. Some pins and a t-shirt. A speech celebrating the birthday. But the word 'rededication' implies a singularly special event that requires, to me, at least a 25-year increment. Maybe it's a matter of semantics. But it's like... OK, another 5 years has gone by. Is this park still entertaining, informational, and inspiring? (Or does it still take you to the worlds of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy?) If it's adjudged to be so, then why must it be rededicated?

Typically, married couples go out for dinner every year on their anniversary. They don't go renew their wedding vows every year on their anniversary. I mean, they can... but that's not the norm. At a certain point, if a couple starts renewing their wedding vows EVERY MONTH, it becomes tacky and meaningless.

Apologies it this was already posted, but how long does this celebration last? Just September, through the end '12?
Until Monday 1 October after IllumiNations. ;)

This isn't a "Year of a Million Dreams" or "Happiest Celebration on Earth" type celebration, it's a one-day deal with some merch that will be available until it runs out.

....can someone explain to me what the RoE/tag thing is with illuminations? All I'm imagining is a big gift tag shaped fireworks. Or is this going to be like LegoLand and we get special 3-d spaceship earth and figment shaped fireworks?

An additional bunch of fireworks tagged onto the end of the usual show.

On the 1st when they hand out the special maps/buttons, will that only be done in the morning? Or can you still get one if you come in later in the afternoon? ...Thanks
