Epcot Rumor Thread

Could be! There's also capacity to think about....Remeber when ST was going to be 20 mins?:lol:

:lol::lol::lol: Interesting.

Though we might not agree with 100% of the decisions and reasonings behind many things within the company, with a huge E-Ticket like that many factors had to be considered before opening it to the public. With an attraction that would get such a huge crowd draw, there's no sense in them isolating a gigantic portion of their guests.

Very true.

Love it. An experience like no other ride.

Would the full Space pavillion have been cool....yeah. But we didn't get that.

Oh...and I don't like that there even is a "green" version. It should be the fill experience or nothing.

Welcome!:lol::wave:

1978 Space lives on...Somewhere. Wish that they could extend the "warehouse" or the post show for a few more rides. Make it a full Pav, not just a ride.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I don't care about M:p sure it's cool technology and all but I mean if someone died on the ride, heart problems or not, it still scares the heck out of me because of that and it makes me not want to ride it because of that.
Seriously? People have died on Soarin' and Pirates, even the Monorail.
If you live your life like that, you may as well not even go to WDW.

NOOOOOO I want a future world, all the do is take out everything in the test track building and design it to be sort of like a space mountain mission 3 ( cuz 2 is in France) and use the same technology for test track though then this ride should be like a star tours type of thing except not a simulator a thrill ride with loops and stuff
Then just demolish MP and put somthin good there
Then on the other side were soarin is just change the theme from future world and rename it put a bunch of thrills in future world, where TT is and make it all futuristic
And you couldn't have just put that all in one post because...?

Well, one thing that M:S has really good, it's score by Trevor Rabin. The main theme is one of my favorites in Epcot.

It does have great music, but it is a HUGE shame that it's just electronic, instead of recorded by a real orchestra. It would make a world of difference. It's also kind of a shame they couldn't slip in the Space theme from Horizons into the exterior BGM, it'd be so perfect.

The Space theme is perfection at it's finest. Horizons had some of the most emotional music used in a theme park attraction.

I couldn't disagree more. Mission: Space is the most expensive ride in Epcot. It is innovative, and it has a huge capacity. With all that said, I am of the opinion that the ride was not the huge success that Disney expected. I wouldn't necessarily say it was a failure, but Disney had every intention of cloning this elsewhere, yet we hear no plans for this.

As for the green team vs. orange team. If the orange version was consistently seeing wait times of 60 minutes plus than I would agree with you, but it wasn't seeing those wait times. By switching one (or more) of the centrifuges over to the non-spinning version it helps get more people onto the ride. At this point though, I'd consider it a D-ticket regardless of price.

To make it an E-Ticket the ride needs to be truly interactive. Even if the pitch of the vehicles can't change from capsule to capsule, the videos on the screen should be able to based on what buttons are pressed. I would hope that the 25 beginnings, 25 middles and 25 endings of Star Tours 2.0 rumor is true, and that something similar can be developed for Mission Space.

Yep, I have to agree. M:S is good, but it could/should be better (post-show and hallway anyone?). I must say though that last couple times through I have been on M:S there has been a bit of a line of about 20 mins for both orange and green. Still not up to what Disney was hoping for I'm sure, but getting better. Certainly better than the walk-on status it had for years (though even today its still a walk on now and again).

I am just saying I am not impressed by the fact that it is a centrifuge instead of something that would stun people. M:S is not going to really be remembered like Horizons. It's not as innovative and regular park guests (a good amount at least) are afraid of it.

Its funny how much you were defending Horizons considering you've never ridden it.

I'm not a defender, nor hater. For me, Mission:Space exists, and thats about it. I don't go out of my way to ride it, even if there isn't a wait. In fact, I prefer rides like The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Gran Fiesta Tour over Mission:Space. Mission:Space certainly has its positives, but the experience doesn't really call out to me as "re-rideable."

I didn't think about when I was doing it.

It must be Summer... :brick:

In all seriousness, I welcome you to the forums and hope you enjoy your time here. Just so you know, you can use the multi-quote function and reply to multiple posts in one response, so as to prevent double posting as you have done above. Double posting is one of those things that doesn't go over too well here (that and the creation of redundant threads), but other than that, you should be fine!

Welcome!

It's funny, the longer Horizons stayed open the shorter the wait times became. The longer M:S stays open the longer the wait times become.

Yet another call for Retro BGM. When is Disney going to wake up and do this? They did it for C25...

C25? Where and when?

That's all. Just .

(On account of how Gran Fiesta is just.....sad.

I actually don't mind Gran Fiesta... Its kindof nice, though I prefer its predecessor.

Maybe I should have re-phrased my statement to say that I prefer riding things like The Seas with Nemo and Gran Fiesta, considering the fact that the lines are typically shorter than those of Mission:Space. :D
