Epcot Rumor Thread

Your opinion does not make it so.

It is an outstanding attraction that you can not experience anywhere else. It's a shame that Disney fans hate it just b/c it was built where Horizons was. Anything could've been built on that spot and it would get the same hate. Put M:S in Tomorrowland or between the Seas and the Land, and nobody would have a problem with it, despite what they say.

Btw, IT IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR HORIZONS! If Disney could've got a sponsor for Horizons, it would've been here. However, since they couldn't and it would've cost a ton for them to fix the problems with Horizons, it was torn down.

Your options are this, have M:S (a state of the art, unique ride) or another WoL.

I have never ridden Horizon so I am not comparing it to Horizons. This is just my opinion and I am not saying that just because I think it is lame doesn't mean anyone else has too. I will admit that I am not a big fan of it compared to what it could have been.

You can't. Do you know the science behind the Pods? How they rotate? How the screens parallax interacts with your movement?

It's nowhere near a Carnival ride.

Opinion.

I am just saying I am not impressed by the fact that it is a centrifuge instead of something that would stun people. M:S is not going to really be remembered like Horizons. It's not as innovative and regular park guests (a good amount at least) are afraid of it.

The Centerfuge is innovative. There is no other ride system that does that.

As for people's opinions, it's subjective. I find that it has consistent waits and FP times.

Yeah, that's why people come off of it with big huge grins on their face and talk about how cool it is.

:eek:Are you kidding me?! I can spin around and get the same experience from M:S. It is unimpressive beyond belief. (but that's just my opinion.)
I totally agree. I have not touched MS since it opened in '03. I've been on SGE more than MS, I personally think its cheap, and a utter waste of 3 minutes.

I don't know. Some people come out throwing up. The wait time is also usually short.

All of this arguing and everyone is probably going to think I actually hate M:S.

I don't care about M:p sure it's cool technology and all but I mean if someone died on the ride, heart problems or not, it still scares the heck out of me because of that and it makes me not want to ride it because of that.

Some people come off Dumbo throwing up. Pirates usually has a short wait. I don't see people talking smack about them.

Either way, I'm done talking about it. I've said my peace.

^^ Seems like you do. That's fine...It's your opinion.

Just don't base it off of unfounded claims.

I might miss Horizons....but..

People have died on all kinds of attractions. For instances, ToT had someone die on it not too long ago. It happens. From a strictly statistical stand point, it is going to happen.

Mission Space defender? Oh boy......

Well, one thing that M:S has really good, it's score by Trevor Rabin. The main theme is one of my favorites in Epcot.

Right. Either way, it's tragic. Some could have been prevented.

It's nice yes. I especially like that they actually have a song to end the ride.

I like Mission Space and think that it is a well executed and innovative attraction.
The problem I have, though, is that having ridden it a few times now, I get bored with it and don't go on it anymore.

It would help if it were programmable with different scenarios.

Kind of like end credits. The post show is also pretty cool.

:sohappy: That would rule. Maybe different endings or even a way you could actually make that sorry excuse of a joystick work.

There might be a scientific reasoning behind it's time only clocking in at 3 minutes. Perhaps the average person begins to black out or lose consciousness after 4 minutes?

That would make sense but they could at least make the green version longer. (though that would probably screw up the loading scenario.)

Though we might not agree with 100% of the decisions and reasonings behind many things within the company, with a huge E-Ticket like that many factors had to be considered before opening it to the public. With an attraction that would get such a huge crowd draw, there's no sense in them isolating a gigantic portion of their guests.
