Epcot rumor per Jim Hill...

I am not sure that a Coco overlay for Caballeros would really help capacity issues at FEA. Some people headed for FEA might detour to Coco, but then they will be back in line for FEA. However, what do people specifically going to Coco do next? Since they are already in the area, many of them will probably join the queue for FEA.

I'd welcome any new addition to WS, the Mexico pavilion is fine with me, no prob with the recent refurb to the boat ride, but outside of that and FEA, WS needs more than old movies/shows, honestly it seems like all WS is used for now is an over priced bar with little else in forms of entertainment.

A Coco overlay for the Mexico boat ride is a stupid idea IMHO. If they want to invest some money in WS,it would make a ton more sense to build a new ride -- and actually add capacity -- somewhere else in that half of the park. Especially in the Japan to UK stretch which is dying for something to draw crowds there.

For anyone in the know, at this point does it look like moving forward the plans are to expand the current showcase countries, or add new nations? New countries would be nice, but its also exciting to think about expanding the current ones and creating a more immersive experience in them.

Agreed. The obsession with overlays is tiring. Build a new f-in ride! Those expansion plots are meant for more than grass (and port-a-potties on NYE)!
Absolutely! WDW really does have all the room they need to expand whatever they want to expand...there is no reason to have to close an attraction to add a new one... there is plenty of room for Expansion in EPCOT both in the world Showcase and in Future World...Space between each of the existing pavilions could be usedto continue the park's growth, not just removal of attractions and overlays...

And it's not as though Gran Fiesta is a failure. It's a modest C-ticket (always has been) that is certainly as popular (I would argue a bit more, honestly) than its predecessor. It's not screaming for replacement like Stitch's Great Escape, which would honestly do more good closed (offering rain cover) than open.

I don't think I would even rate it a C ticket... If You Had Wings was a much better attraction, and though it was free, would have been a C ticket... Gran Fiesta could and should be a much better ride...

By putting in extremely old AAs. It was hardly a huge investment. If anything, it was absurd how long those old AAs sat in storage.
Those animatronics weren't in storage very long... maybe 5 years? They were part of the Mickey Mouse Revue that sorta-recently closed in Tokyo Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom before (I remember being so upset as a kid when I returned to the Magic Kingdom and Mickey Mouse Revue was gone).

With the announcement that GotG is coming to Epcot, I have lost all hope for the original ideals of EPCOT Center to return. I have finally reached the acceptance stage of the grief process. The spirit is gone. The wonder and inspiration are gone.

All I can hope for now is that they build IP attractions that will be quality, even if misplaced. I can't believe I am saying this, but EPCOT Center is dead and the sooner we realize it, the better.
Dude, it's a theme park. Don't have a nervous breakdown. Get over it!
