Epcot rumor per Jim Hill...

The Odyssey.

A straight up "book report" ride on the Odyssey (especially if it has a quality musical score) would be a fantastic addition to WS. The creatures and characters in the poem would just be fantastic to see as AAs and it wouldn't be tough to see that having a good balance of "edutainment" and actual history while still being entertaining and accessible to the masses and, in particular, appealing to the elusive young boy demographic that supposedly Disney has problems with.

The Tony Baxter concept also had a carousel at the entrance which you board, and then the horses leave the cousel and begin the journey. I am not so sure of the rest of the details... I remember seeing Tony Baxter's sketches at one point in an interview piece he did...There was even a model built, so the concept got pretty far before it was canned.

I think Mary Poppins is the only IP that I'd be okay with them using for a ride in the UK pavilion. I think there's a lot more they could do (maybe go with a now-dreaded edutainment idea) to bring the area to life, but I wouldn't say no to Mary. I think getting the details of the ride to make everyone happy might be a little difficult (would they use Julie Andrews or Emily Blunt, D*ck Van D%ke (edit- the poor man's name is on this site) or Lin Manuel Miranda, 1910s or 1930s, Sherman Brothers or Scott Wittman). I'd be happy with a mixture of everything, but with Mary herself, they'd have to choose between Emily or Julie, and I'm very positive that there would be complaints for years if they went with one over the other (at least, there would be if the new movie is a hit).

i feel like the classic and original Julie Andrews Mary would still be the most appropriate regardless of if the movie is a hit or not...though I am very surprised to see the Shanghai Alice In Wonderland is based on the Tim Burton film rather than the Walt Disney original cartoon feature...
But playing to a UK Pavilion, I feel like the traditional images of Mary would suit it best...

The first Burton Alice did really well in China. The second did marginally well but was still considered a flop. In comparison to the original animated movie, the Burton tie-ins might look a little dated in a few years.

I know it wouldn't happen, but I for one would LOVE to see a Dr. Who attraction of some sort in the UK Pavilion.
It'd probably be a better fit for Future World. Unless they just stuck to the historical aspect, and not the space.
You'd also have an issue trying to figure out what Doctor to use. If, and this is a big if, it ever happened, I think it would be the Fourth, Tenth, or Eleventh, if they used AAs. If it was a video screen, you could swap out whoever was the new Doctor and Companion every few years.

If it's open season on IP's, count me amongst those that would like to see Mary Poppins in the UK. I love the idea of a carousel that transitions into a dark ride.
