This is for @epcotisbest. Looking back over my trip, EPCOT is truly my favorite park for so many reasons. The Street performers, Jamminators, the Ws players in GB etc. So I was wondering what is your favorite thing about EPCOT that does NOT, I repeat DOES NOT involve the consumption of adult beverages. I know you must have more than a few!

Thank you....I think Epcot, for us is one of those "The whole is greater than the sum of the parts" deals. While I don't know what Aristotle was referring to, it can apply to many things....look around your house...boards, blocks, nails insulation, siding, shingles...each useful on its own...but put together correctly they become something much more.
Like a band...say the Beatles...separately they were just four talented teenagers...but when they became John, Paul, George and Ringo something very magical happened.
We love Epcot for so many reasons...from the big golf ball (which I have always referred to it for some unknown silly reason) to something as small as the leapfrog fountains...it all comes together to create a place of wonder and amazement for my wife and I. It begins from the moment we first see SSE until we head out after the spectacle of Illuminations.
We first went in the early 80s, during the time of Horizons, World of Motion, Dreamfinder and Figment and the dream of what might yet to be...loved it then...love it now. Everything about it. Never drank around the world and personally don't understand the appeal of that pursuit, but to each his own.
Not having children, and first going to WDW in our 20s, never having experienced it a child myself...Epcot just grabbed me more than the Magic Kingdom, before DHS and DAK were ever built.
What a special place...has been for us for 30 years now. There have been times when we go to Uni and Seaworld, more often now, when we may not make it to the other Disney Parks, but we rarely miss a trip to Epcot.
So what is my favorite thing about Epcot? Everything!

And strolling around World Showcase, leisurely enjoying the shops, architecture, people, entertainment and especially small details (the clacker garden in Japan for example)...there is just so much to enjoy. Who needs roller coasters (OK, I realize a lot of people do...we don't) when you can see and do so much more in one place....I could go on and on.

Epcot used to be my least favorite park, but now I think it's hopped up over AK. (MK and HS are 1 and 2, respectively) There are some of my favorite attractions there: SSE, Soarin, LWTL... American Adventure is one of my favorite shows. And all the countries in WS make for some awesome photo opportunities, especially at night! :)

I agree. Epcot is the best Disney park. It's original, it's beautiful, and there is no other theme park like it out there. People on these boards always point out flaws, such as the attractions in Future World. And while I agree with them about things like the state of the Imagination! Pavilion or Universe of Energy, I always look at Epcot as massive attraction itself. From walking around and exploring Innoventions, riding Maelstrom, strolling through World Showcase, to simply taking a ride on Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth. Epcot is just simply one of the best.

Like I said, I do realize that some Future World pavilions need some major help. I won't deny that. I think Journey into Imagination is one of the worst rides out there. And Captain EO? Oh please. I would truly love to see an update for Soarin' that makes it "Soarin' Around the World".

But seeing Spaceship Earth for the first time as you pass through the turnstiles, and hearing the music that plays at the entrance... It's one of the best theme park moments. Epcot is truly a 2 day park... Maybe even more.

Sounds like a great day...we thoroughly enjoy Soarin', I suppose because it is visually stunning, full of thrills and surprises, yet smooth and gentle on these old bones...we don't do Mission Space except on the wimpy side.
Strolling WS and trying different desserts is our version of a trip consuming around the world, but I can't have the sweets I used to. A small bite and a kiss on the cheek from my lovely is more sugar than I am supposed to have!

Epcot is the first and last park we visit!! We could live there!! I love all the rides, shows, music...my fav is Soarin and SE. My DH loves MS. We both live Off Kilter. The WS is the best with all the countries you can visit without flying there! LOL The food is the best and shopping is great!! I could just go on and on!!:)
