EPCOT Entertainment cuts

Will any/all of these guys be offered new positions within the company at this point? I fondly recall the one in the center as Hathaway Brown and other roles at the Adventurers Club.

Karl Anthony. Does stand-up around town still, occasionally. Also fills in at Hoop-De-Doo and Nemo, as well as Horror Make-Up at Universal, but not at all certain he has a steady gig at the moment. Same is true of a lot of talented Equity actors right now.

Thank you for the concert video; I was hoping someone would film it and share here. Those musicians are amazing, and I looked forward every year to seeing them. I'm stunned that Disney ended their performance. :banghead:

I see myself :). I made it to every set and couldn't believe the crowds. Simply amazing and it's awesome they had such a great send-off. To be honest, I thought for certain at least one or two sets would be rained out (which selfishly concerned me as I flew down for the day lol) but the show went on even during a drizzle. Hopefully management took notice!

Unfortunately, if the band as a whole breaks up due to other commitments (other employment etc) I dont see them coming back together as a band for regular gigs at all. Think about how hard it is trying to get 5 of your friends to together for a single evening out with everyone having stuff going on. It will be the same kind of thing. Marie

I saw all the final performances from the four groups - what came across in each case was how passionate and dedicated these groups were to their performances. For ridiculously petty financial reasons, Disney has now lost some of its best live acts.

Each act closed in its own unique style - World Showcase Players - funny to the very end, but so classy with an emotional goodbye address. Fife and Drum were patriotic, somewhat sombre, but with a great sense of pride and passion. MO'ROCKIN and Off Kilter - both signed off with a celebration of their talents.

They will all be greatly missed.

I mean they did do two encores so it went 20 past the normal end time, so I can see why they wanted to clear everyone out. It was very congested for people wanting to move around the park who weren't watching the show

I've had it with them. This is going to be my swan song year as far as carrying an annual pass of any kind for Disney. This year we downgraded from a full AP to seasonal passes. Was considering at least doing Epcot after 4 passes next year, but with TDO intent on destroying the things we like best about that park, that's not going to happen. Until Disney does something to earn my entertainment dollars, they are either going elsewhere or staying in my wallet.

This is heartbreaking. I'd like to see Disney stock drop $10 Monday morning to send a message to those in charge. Saving money on a product usually cheapens the product and loses customers in the long run.

For a change, they need to burn the spreadsheets and listen to the customer.

It probably won't drop 10 cents because for every person that cares, there are probably at least two or more brainwashed Disney zombies who will look at everything Disney does through kool-aid colored glasses and give them a pass on absolutely everything the do...or don't do.

I read that as well. Also said they starting breaking down the stage immediately, right in front of the visitors. Not sure how much lower Disney can go.

Sad that Disney had security escort them off. Of course I wasn't there but that just seems a tad bit unnecessary.

As in "we need to get these guys off stage safely?" Or… "We need to get these guys to end the show?"

I just watched the video. It did not look to me like security was forcing them off the stage, but rather was there to watch over the guys removing the equipment. Pretty reasonable on Disney's part if you ask me, with a crazy fan base there could be fans looking to take a piece home. Best to break it down as soon as possible.

(edited for slightly better grammar)

Even more than that, between the small amount of superfans who care, and the small amount of superfans who will love it no matter what Disney does, there are the great masses of folks, the vast majority, who won't even notice one way or another. Thus, the stock will be unaffected.

Thanks for the videos, though. Great stuff for those of us that couldn't be there, but do care . . .
