Superhero McPlayland is a little much, but my point is this does all of the following

a) This caters to the next generation of disney goers
b) This appeals to not only them but to everyone since this is a product that has been around for decades
c) This is an IP that is not only hot now, but has been for years and still will be for years to come
d) Most importantly, this is an IP that can be used in conjunction with the edutainment rides Epcot is known for

These are characters that 20 years from now people will still know who they are, just like Star Wars, classic Disney characters, etc.
I will add on to this, Marvel and Star wars hits another key demographic Disney is lacking in, the young male population. They are getting less Princess centric and adding IP and attractions for that young male demographic that hasn't always LOVED Disney. I know my two teens are thrilled with the thought of Star Wars and some kind of Marvel activity in the parks.

If that is the actual survey, it sounds like typical Disney. Let the fruit rot on the vine and then ask people's feedback about how bad it tastes so they can rip out the plant all together. The reason why the atmosphere is not enjoyable is because of lack of upkeep and poor decisions in expansion/development. They will then take those results to justify doing what they intended to do all along. When you give feedback at WDW you are actually giving feedback to support loaded questions to support decisions that have already been made. On a side note...I remember at one time the Magic Kingdom had a challenge of people walking up in a white shirt, Disney name tag and khaki shorts (looking like industrial engineering Cast Members) letting themselves in the stroller gates getting in the park. They were not Cast Members at all. Not sure how long it happened for or how many people got in over time but it did happen.

If they want Marvel, can't you just take them down the road to Universal?

Epcot is my favorite park. But Future World needs to feel like the future like it did in the past. I think that's why so many people liked Horizons. It ended by picking one of 3 futuristic places to live. Maybe bring back an improved version of Horizons??? I'd like that.

I think EVERYONE would like that...but that ship has sailed...Never again will we see that type of elaborate, animatronic-heavy, lengthy ride again unfortunately... The people that found EPCOT boring seem to have won...

At least they still have the patio by the Rose & Crown to have a few Harp and watch Illuminations. Ha Ha!!!

Selling Harp in Epcot is really strange, as it hasn't been a common sight in the UK for 20 years or so. I doubt it is available in draft anywhere in the UK now.
There must be some very confused conversations when the Floridians visit the UK and seek out a pint of Harp.

Right!? That plexiglass sculpture always was my central focal point. The area feels incomplete without it.

My wish list is so simple: return the old fountain (those rocks are ugly), with sculpture, change the trees for palm trees again, move the LaL pictures to the inside of the outside walls (everybody happy). That's all. And plant some flowers. ^_^

The revamped fountain still has a flat part in the center that could fit the original crystals. However, they were sold on eBay long ago. Almost had one myself but was outbid! I was told one of the three crystals cracked during removal, so they decided to scrap them instead of add them to the new version of the fountain.

And as the name and green colour suggest, Harp is very much Irish, not British.

For some reason, when I think of a "future world", I think of HOLOGRAMS AND ROBOTS!

It is hard to answer "Should they change EPCOT as a yes or no question... In it's current incarnation, EPCOT does need to change... Bad decisions, shuttered attractions, lack of updating have put it in this position...Does EPCOT need to change? of course, yes, but how is the big question...
I think it needs to be carefully updated...Bring back the wow that it once had, and not with an IP overlay... Staying true to the original idea of the park, it definitely could be brought back in a more meaningful way...

Keep the idea of educating and entertaining in the back of every change, and the park will stay unique and relevant. Having 4 parks based on Childhood Fantasy worlds, Edutainment, Nature and Movies is a great combination.
Granted, some elements break the concepts (cough... Frozen), but as long as that is a minor part of the whole, it won't spoil the whole.
