Epcot Arcade

When I went to Disney maybe 3-5 years ago, I went to Epcot and there was an arcade where you could play lots of games like Sonic R and other Sega games. I think there was another part of that place where they had computers and other stuff also. When I went to Disney 2 years ago, I couldn't find the place anywhere. Does anyone know what happened to the place or what it was called before?

It's still there...it's in Innoventions. They have Disney games now...I believe. (Haunted Mansion and Finding Nemo were there last time)

I remember that when I was a kid......they had a big sonic statue, and maybe some other video game characters. It was so exciting!! I was so easily amused!!!

They always have newer games there. Mostly espn or disney themed games.

i remember that sega display, especially the sega channel being previewed there (btw, the sega channel was this special cartridge that you could plug in to a cable tv outlet, which allowed you to preview some games). all right about the sega section of innoventions, here's what happened: in 2001 (i think), sega announced that they were no longer going to produce the dreamcast in order to create games for their competitors (nintendo's gamecube and sony's playstation 2). i also heard that sega's contract with disney expired too

Oh right. I was thinking that it had something to do with SEGA's stop of new systems. :hammer: But the games that were in the arcade were mostly Sega Saturn Games, right? I guess they didn't want to renew that contract or whatever you do.

Sega only makes games now, and does so for all systems. The ESPN games you are refering to are made by Sega by the way. They used to be known as "Sega Sports" games, and had titles like "NBA 2K" "NBA 2K1" "NBA 2K2" "NHL2K" "NHL21K" "NHL2K2" etc. Sega realized this was confusing and hurting sales, so they teamed up with Disney/ESPN to rebrand the games. So basicaly they are they same classic Sega sports games that most video game players know and love. Sega has always been better at making games then consoles (Sega CD, Sega 32X, Game Gear, Dreamcast), so mabye it's better that they quit that market.

I remember spending more time in that old Innoventions section back when I went there as a kid, then in the rest of EPCOT. No insult to EPCOT, just found the games addicting.

It was much better when it first opened. But right after sega dropped sponsorship, it kinda stunk....

It was all old DC games...

And the current games stink too. I think Nintendo or Konami should sponsor it.

But at least there is free DDR where that surgery exhibit used to be.

Being older and wiser now, I get their point:)

Back in that time, The arcade was all that Epcot had. So I say to you, "You've come all the way to Disney...Why are you in Epcot?"

(No offense to Epcot or anything. But if Homer Simpson doesn't like Epcot, I'll half agree with him!)

pah-diddly-dah!!!! EPCOT Center was my favourite park for a long long time. Well, the future world bit was. :)

If you're saying Epcot is your favorite then you're hurting Dumbo. That means you hate elephants. You don't hate Elephants...do you? Vote Yes on Prop 7133.

No, seriously, I do like Epcot's difference from the other parks. I love the different countries theme, so the food is really good there. Except that you have to pay extra for cheese....:cry: And I love the Air-Conditioned Spaceship Earth. Always good for a hot hot day.
