Imagine you’re the character manager and that’s the reason you tell your cast. I think it’s still a while away, and I’m sure the performers are much happier this way right now.

Money has nothing to do with it.
it costs the same to have a character hug you as it does to have a character stand 6 feet away from you.
It means when we can no longer get away with not returning them.I mean I get it right now with Omicron circulating. But the time will be very soon.
I guarantee they are staffing characters at a much lower level right now. Especially when you account for the store closed character meals and reduced character mail experiences.

I never said entertainment/character staffing levels where not reduced. They absolutely are.
but that has nothing to do with you not getting a hug

The performers are still performing, some even more so now that they have more freedom to walk around and interact with their surroundings compared to hug, picture, next.

Fairytale Hall and TST are not cheap operations so considering those were the first major ones to come back and the lack of photopass making money in both of those spots should be enough to show it’s not all about the money.
More and more locations that feature back to backs are slowly coming back so they aren’t opposed to spending money, whether hugging or not.

It’s not money or a new policy of no-hugs coming, it’s freakin Covid holding stuff back.

Lack of Photopass could easily be considered a money making thing.

I think he was referring specifically to guests still not being allowed to touch characters, not which offering haven’t returned

Those locations have the automated boxes set up for when it eventually returns so the money will be saved still.
I knew they tested those, but did they ever make that permanent?
