I'd love to hear from people who are into this whole "meet and greet but no touching" thing. We've never been a HUGE M&G family, but there were always a handful that my kids liked to do. That said, neither they nor I see any appeal to them while social distancing is being enforced. Yet Disney seems to have this in front of other priorities on the timeline, so it must be appealing to someone out there.
Daughter is 7, and over Thanksgiving, she was not interested in any of the M&Gs with out the hugging and autographs.

So we did a grand total of 1: Mickey at Town Square Theater. And we only did it because we were leaving the park and there was absolutely no line. It was sad. No matter how hard Mickey tried, there was absolutely nothing magical about the barrier and the spacing.

The saddest part is that for her first trip back in 2015, it was still the talking Mickey. What a complete turnaround for that experience.

From the inexplicable decision department comes the new hip-hop group on the boardwalk ...

Why? Why in the world would anyone ever think this was a good idea that made any sense?

It's such a relaxed, chill experience to be there at night -- a live hip hop group is literally the opposite of that (and it's not because it's hip hop -- a live rock band would be equally bad, as would basically any music from the second half of the 20th century or later). The live entertainment there used to reflect the overall theme.

This had better go away quickly; I really like going to the Boardwalk at night but I would have no interest in being there with this going on.

EDIT: It would be especially jarring to have a nice (and expensive) meal at Flying Fish and exit to this. Isn't Flying Fish supposed to reopen soon?

It's especially bad when you think about how much entertainment is still missing in the parks.

They are paying someone to do this on the Boardwalk (yes, I realize the money is almost certainly coming from different buckets, but for average guest optics...). This is a completely bizarre decision -- it's as bad as the Magic Kingdom DJ, if not even worse.

something needs to be done, these things are not Disney World and this shows how poor and clueless management has become. They are doing everything they can now to move in this direction with decision making and getting away with it. I thought it was a joke at first, unreal. Is this the same group that hired the MK dj and got in a mess??

People need to speak up about this nonsense.

The wardrobe doesnt fit the resorts theming. This would be fine at Springs but is visually jarring at a 1930s boardwalk. They’re talented, just need a different venue or different costumes

They need a different venue. No costumes are going to make hip hop work on a 1930s boardwalk.

The only live music that should go there is a jazz orchestra or maybe a barbershop quartet. Hip hop, rock, etc. have no place there and really screw up the whole vibe. It was one of the most relaxing places you can go in the evenings at Disney.

I know I have a lot of relatively negative things to say about current Disney, but this is one of the few I've seen that actually completely ruins an experience I enjoy. It's like a personal attack!
