Enchanted

The movie is so good! I saw it already and liked it enough that I'm going to see it again after it comes out. It's equal parts funny, cute, romantic, and just pays a really perfect tribute to the classic Disney cartoon formula. And the music is amazing, Amy Adams actually sings and she has a great voice! If you want to know anything else about the movie, just let me know!

Oh, and I even liked it enough to change my avatar to support it using www.myspace.com/enchantedmovie. Cute, huh? ;)

Alright, I got a question. I got a pre-release of the soundtrack and was a little disappointed to find that there are only 3 songs which are sung by the characters. Is this the case? Are there only 3 songs in the movie? Not really considered a musical in my eyes.

However, the song 'So Close', sung by Jon McLaughlin is beautiful. It sounds like it's a credit song, along with Ever Ever After. Is it actually a credit song, or is it used in the film.

The soundtrack is good, but I was expecting much bigger things from Steven Schwartz and Alan Menken.

But then there's also an "Enchanted Suite" and "That's Amore." Where do those fit in? Either or both of those could also be credit songs.

Right, they could be. But what I mean by So Close and Ever Ever After is that they are not sung by characters in the movie, so I figured they don't fit into the actual story anywhere.

And also, Idina Menzel plays Nancy in the movie. Idina has an astounding voice. I find it weird they didn't use her for anything more than an acting part.

I looked it up on IMDB, so it could have changed, but it still lists Idina as Nancy.

Most definately looking foreward to seeing this movie with DH.
Do you think that this movie's princess will be as popular as, lets say, ariel, bell, jasmine, and cinderella?

I guess only time will tell. I think the trailer has made the film seem great, so I have very high hopes for Enchanted.

Am I the only one who thinks this movie looks bad?
It definitely sets itself up to be a bad movie if it's not done right (that's what I thought the first time I saw the preview), but the reviews I've seen have actually been really good so I'm starting to get pretty excited about it!

I don't think Enchanted really is a musical, right? Every preview I see, the characters are always interupted, almost as if they were poking fun at musicals.

Yea, it's more of a comedy with musical elements (that happen to be really catchy) thrown in. I went in just expecting to laugh, and came out loving the music as well.

And Pluto77, to answer your question, they do it right...definitely. It's hard to parody something like a Disney classic cartoon and still keep it fresh and funny, and they accomplish that. And they still keep the romance in there too, which I liked.

Yea, Gisele is going to be added to the Disney Princess crew. And I saw the Patrick Dempsey doll the other day - very handsome :) Not much longer to go until it hits theaters!

Awesome, awesome movie.

Best parts: Pip's tabletop acting debut and Patrick Dempsey's sarcasm ("Oh... he sings, too.")

I couldn't agree more with you. It was a great movie. The songs really felt like Disney, and so did the movie overall.

I also fell in love with Giselle. Right now, she's my second favorite princess (my favorite will always be Ariel). She's a good singer, and she was really funny.
