News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I really hope Coco doesn't come to Animal Kingdom. You can stretch Encanto & Indy to fit Animal Kingdom but there's no way to make Coco work. It'll be even worse if it's just for a flat ride or restaurant; the theme doesn't fit & then they're wasting the IP on something stupid like that.
I think an Alebrije flat ride where Triceratop Spin was could be the route they pursue

Is Indy really a thrill attraction, though? I've never been on it, but from videos it looks like the EMV motion is secondary to what actually makes it a great attraction. Like, you could turn off the vehicle motion and it would still be fantastic.
I disagree. The EMV isn’t about thrill, but immersion. In Indy, the vehicle mimics dropping down steps timed to the music, which only sells the attraction even more. Dino doesn’t have any of that.

I agree but it would seem to check all the right boxes
Yeah you're definitely right lol

But since they already revised the AK plans to fit better into that park, hopefully they'll know better than to do something like that. If it's just a flat ride then it doesn't need to be IP themed; I can get the mandate for major attractions to be IP themed since they think that's a draw & it is to an extent, but no one's coming to a park for a Coco themed carousel lmao

A case could be made for doing it even if people are flocking in droves to Animal Kingdom to ride a mythical creatures carousel. I see it as a possibility. Coco doesn't exactly fit DAK but the logic of having the Alebrije animals in that land makes sense. As far as IP goes, it's an easy add. The land would need a good mix of high thrill and no thrill attractions.

Which is okay, but should only be done if there is a second more robust Coco ride as well. But the concept art doesn’t seem to suggest anything like that and it’s sad.

If they are going to pump all this money into redoing Dinoland, they should net at least 1 additional ride (not only the PW replacement but something else)

I would think the Reimagine Tomorrow diversity initiatives also give Coco an additional push for inclusion within the plans

Nothing about Coco really lends itself to Animal Kingdom except for the Alebrije-angle. So it's probably a one and done if they do it at all. The IP has a greater chance in MK but I can see them throwing it in this lot just to satisfy the IP mandate and assuming it's borrowed concepts from Beyond Big Thunder.

Save Coco for the Beyond Big Thunder plans. I actually really like that plan & Big Thunder going into Mexico/Coco works really well.

I agree - guess you could stretch it with the spirit animals but definitely better in MK

And would fit the Beyond Big Thunder if you continue the geography down South from the US west Coast of Big Thunder

Just being able to see better and feel like the trucks are moving along a rough path, etc it feels more immersive

Dino, it it's current state, just feels like bouncing in the dark.

100%. I think Coco could make for a really cool ride too, so I'd be worried they'd cancel the MK plans for that movie if they give it something stupid in AK.

I'm thinking they might also consider Carsland seeing as how Radiator Springs is based off an Arizonan town.

Interesting idea - the background of that land would definitely tie into the rock work of Big Thunder and progresses the timeline properly (going from oldest in Liberty Sq to most modern with Bug Thunder, this would then be after). Plus could use the back drop to hide a Villains area behind it

Hadn't heard this as a rumor but could fit

God please no single IP lands in MK
Agree 100%. That’s why Encanto Land made no sense for MK but Villains Land would fit nice. The lands at MK should be more general where IP based rides that fit the land would be fine IMHO.

That being said, the Radiator Springs Racers ride could maybe fit as a ride in Frontierland with the mountains and desert theming. Not my first choice for sure, but better than a stand alone Cars Land.
