If anyone is interested, "Great Performances" on PBS is going to feature a tribute this Wednesday to Ella Fitzgerald, the greatest singer ever. A bunch of people -- Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, etc. -- are going to cover songs she made famous, but I'm sure they'll have clips of Ella singing, too. They had better!

That's a good one, too. She can sing anything and it's wonderful (or is that s'wonderful?).

I'm listening to "All Through the Night" right now and her voice is just so heavenly. I got the box set of songbooks a few years ago and I can spend the whole day just going through one CD after another. I like her on the Cole Porter and Duke Ellington tunes the best. "Kiss Me Kate" is in Chicago, actually.

It's on tomorrow, June 6, so you still have the chance. In the Chicago area, it's on at 7:30 p.m. But your local PBS station may have it on at a different time.

Have you seen the movie, "De-Lovely"? It's pretty good. Kevin Kline is good in most of his films.

"You Do Something to Me" is a great song. Sinatra does a great version of it, too. In fact, his is probably considered the definitive version.
