Electric Umbrella reopens early - new menu

Yup. I'm just tired of getting the same stuff at EVERY QS place unless you are in World Showcase.

Exactly, all the variety is gone. All over the parks. Bring back the Adventureland Veranda, make Pecos Bills good and original again. Have something unique in Friar Tucks Haus or whatever it is now. Thats the Magic Kingdom, but you get my drift.

Future World needs a similar makeover. Its a shame Wonders of Life is closed, I always thought that would be a great place for a healthy food plaza, maybe even a microbiotic cafe. I wish they would bring back the variety and selection Electric used to have. It used to be a good place for a fast bite.

Electric Umbrella used to have one of the best quick service menus out there. They used to have great sandwiches on different kinds of bread, including a ham sandwich on pretzel bread. If only we could get that kind of menu back.

Please?

Anything to liven up the food a bit.
As long as the DDP exsit this is what we have to live with when it comes to quick service.

I wonder if they put the condiment bar back in. The only thing they had at it in January was ketchup, mustard, and mayo.

Huh... when did they repaint the supports outside blue? I was just there in September and they were pink..

Yes, I noticed that on my recent visit as well. Now this new menu sign has popped up and it too is blue (with some touches of SSE-esque purple). Makes me think about that rumor that was circulating that Innoventions is going to be split into blue and green sections in the future. Recent changes keep supporting that idea...

They took out the condiment bar...oh jeez, a year or more ago now? and instead added in the "pour your own soda" stations. Whether or not that's changed in the most recent refurb I don't know.

Much of that area will be painted blue ... and that ugly Milennium crap will be leaving.

As to the menu, blah ... sorry, I know I should help Disney's bottom line in this economy but I am not paying $8 for a mediocre, small sandwich with a side of pixie dust when there's a Subway close by, a Quiznos close by ... hell, an Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express in DD.

Nope. WDW quick serve is now almost universally overpriced and underwhelming. I'll leave the magic and save some coin and get better for less.

I agree. Disney quick serve hit its peak (in my opinion) around 2000 or so. There was variety and something different at every QSR. It is definitely on the downswing again.

We agree (miracles do happen).

Blame the DDP for what has transpired.

It's not that I wouldn't rather dine at the parks most times, but I simply won't reward them for lowering quality, portions and variety and raising prices.

:ROFLOL: Yeah, I don't disagree to be contrite, believe it or not.

I was talking about that with my wife about how we almost never eat quick serve outside of the World Showcase anymore.

DDP is a blessing and a curse I would say. I enjoy the convinence but the damage it is doing to QSR in particular is frustrating.

You're quips are almost amusing.

I'm game for salads (yay salads), but what disturbs/confuses me is that the only burger option here is a double with cheese and bacon. If you want to make things healthy, why not offer a regular burger for picky eaters so they won't have to eat that monstrosity?

And I don't rip Disney just to be difficult. I KNOW they can do better and I KNOW why they opt not to.

I don't even do WS much anymore. Three or four years ago (Hmmm about the time DDP started) they destroyed Yakitori House (a fave of mine going back to 10/1/82). Started using mystery dark chicken thigh meat instead of white breast meat, started using lower quality beef and increased the prices a good 15-30% on most items.

Even Tangerine Cafe, which I still usually dine at (although skipped on my last visit), has seen the prices almost double since it opened.

They can keep their food and their side of pixie dust.

It's all a curse. And I'm saying that having used it twice during the free period where I ate like I've never before on two long (I think 9 and 11 night) stays.

Is there some good? Sure. The problem is all the bad it brings along.

Good to hear since I am almost trying!

You can ALWAYS order a plain burger at ANY Disney quick serve locale.
You can also order it a la carte and they will discount it ... albeit they usually take off a tiny amount ... like 80 cents if an order of fries would normally cost $2.49.

I think the DDP has definitely reduced the quality of the QSR food just like the dining plan at Universal has done to its food. Also how come BBQ sauce has become so hard to find at all the QSR places? They took it out of The Land

Thanks Miss M. It had been almost 2 years since I had been in the EU. What I noticed was no more talking trash can, no pineapple coleslaw, no condiment bar, and my cheeseburger was cold when I got it.

Has anyone bought a sandwich at a football/baseball/basketball/golf tournament lately?? They are higher than disney. My husband and I go to the golf pga in New Orleans every year and a can of coke is $3! Janine
