So? And just have one "thing" to find in there? Doesn't KP have a ton of steps?

I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure you only get to do one country, so it wouldn't be different at all. And there's plenty of places to set up clues in the land.

Personally, I'd like to see a game like this set up in every land of every park, but that's just me.

I suppose. Maybe one for the whole MK? that would take care of spacial concerns.

They could also do a Kim Possible-style National Treasure thing.

Good thinking. Sure. You don't have to change the hardscape to do something innovative. National Treasure is a great fit for that area. Good one! You're hired!

To all the naysayers...think for a minute..you don't have to restrict the story to just that area, you could use the whole MK with legends and secrets etc... but since it's invisible to other guests, it is only known by those playing. It may be the start and end at the Liberty Tree.

Yes, that works. :D

I like the idea of the game in the park. I just really, really don't like the use of National Treasure.

I was thinking of keeping it in Liberty Square but then again extending it into Frontierland would make sense. As for the historical accuracy thing. It is the Magic Kingdom. If they tried to do a National Treasure tie-in at Epcot I would fiercely oppose it.

"National Treasure" is about the most obscure secrets in the world under our noses, so I would do the "National Treasure" MK edition. So the secrets are the most guarded Disney secrets of all time. The early Imagineers hid them back in 1971 and now you must uncover the hidden messages embedded deep in the classic attractions. Maybe the voice of Cage is heard as a call in clue, etc. Ok. Imagine taking part of the utilidor basement and theming it as an underground catacomb or something so at the end under the HOP there is something REALLY thematically cool to explore as a LS payoff for playing. I'm soo there for that. I'd totally sign up! It would be great, like the movies, if you learned something historic along the way.

Have you read EPCOT Central? 82 over there wants to drop KP from the game...I have to agree, it would still work.

The idea sounds great! I think this should somehow connect the vast use of hidden Mickeys across the park to this. Like it would be a secret, well not so much anymore, all around you in every WDW area. DVC may not be Disney's best-kept secret after all. Who am I kidding? They've been shouting DVC from every angle in people's faces for years now...

I like it. I really like the idea of it finishing up at HOP. I would imagine this could be pulled off for a relatively small price tag...which is always a good thing when pushing it to the powers that be.

As a consultant, we proposed a hidden mickey photo safari/hunt concept once and I was surprised at how many there were and how widespread they had become.

I'm most interested in making some kind of guest accessible themed "underground" that only the players could find, or have access to. If they themed a tunnel from one land to another, there could be magic flowing through pipes, then this cavern or transition tunnel could be full of magical effects, etc. (Through a window we see all the "Presidents" in T Shirts, having coffee and Sun Chips in a break area,..ok maybe not.)

Imagine creating some kind of story that Walt had collected some precious historic items and had them in a vault below the HOP and we discover it with the "Disney GPS" on our phones. Or we end with a code that opens up Walt's secret apartment at WDW full of clues and collections? It just seems fun to me and something I'd go out of my way to do.

LOL. That would definitely be something to see! (It kinda reminds me of the MIB queue with the space worms.)

Seriously though, if they were to go all out on this like with KP, it would probably be a must do for me (I do KP every visit to Epcot as a great way to visit things in WS that I normally wouldn't.)

You way beat me to it Eddie! My first thought about a National Treasures interactive was to have a secret room! How cool would that be?!

Totally off topic,but...
Congratulations on Rivera being named one of Esquire's top new restaurants of 2009! Kudos, also, to Sedlar!

If you make the game less historical and more fantastical in nature, it sounds a lot like the plot of Ridley Pearson's first "Kingdom Keepers" book. In it, a group of children have to prevent Maleficent from taking over the Magic Kingdom by following a series of clues that leads them to a magical artifact of Walt's that was hidden in the park.

I'd much prefer a more history-based National Treasure game myself, but perhaps a fantasy-based game would appeal to a larger group of people.
