Look, Vince this is the second time you've used the term "war" recently in this thread and I've gotta tell you I have a couple of friends/former co-workers who are currently deployed in Iraq and this is no war. Out of respect for the families who have loved ones in harm's way and are worried sick every single day, please don't use this term to describe a freakin' game again.

Peace.

Sorry, I in no way meant to compare this to Iraq. But that's just how we feel about this. If you take offense, then I would say just stay away from my posts then.

Okay, let's bring this back to the purpose for the thread. The Bengals kicked Philly's a$$.

Did we play the Bengals?

Oh yeah, we did. Those were 2nd and 3rd stringers. You'd better have kicked their behinds. Or else, that would've been pretty embarassing.

Anybody wanna talk about the Colts?? :lookaroun

Come on, Vince. Lighten up a little. It's great that it's important to you and that you have a such a passion for the Eagles, but at the end of the day, it's still just football and it's not life or death. It's great that both teams have gotten as far as they have-be glad you're not a Colts fan!! :)

Yeah!!! What JillHoov said, 'cept replace Colts with Bengals. Just joshing with ya Fishy. But truth be told, that was not just 2nd and 3rd teamers out there. Yes there were some pretty low on the depth chart, but that was most of the starters on defense that Rudi and Kitna, yes Kitna - our 2nd teamer, thrashed for 38 points.

Anyway, like I said, I hope the Eagles WIN.

I know. And I thank you guys for putting up with it, but it will not end until the final whistle is blown. This just means so much to me. I just, I just can't wait for the moment I can wake up and see the sun outside my window and know that it is a brand new day for me and for this city I love.

Just way too serious about a game. Yes, the Eagles are a great team. Yes, you love your home team. Yes, it's the SuperBowl. But it's not a war. Tell the thousands of families who had to bury someone they love that.

OMG!

I'm listening to sports radio, they're calling for a caravan of Eagles fans to go to Jacksonville and hang "Phillyville" banners over Jacksonville signs.

So what is up with that Toll Bridge going over to Jersey? I mean come on. But I do like the way flights come into Philly. Flying over that Naval yard is pretty cool. Have they done anything with that big white cruise ship that was 'parked' on the doorstep to the city? That thing was spooky looking. I never got the full story on it from my customers in Jersey.

Dave, I understand exactly what's going on here. (Philly's football fans are die-hard...as are our Sox fans). Vince telling people that they're not welcome in a thread is a little harsh though...and he did mention my name. I was just stating the fact that we're not playing in his backyard...so he has no right to tell anybody who can and who can't post in any thread...and whether they are welcome or not.

Like I said, I'm taking it all with a grain of salt because I know how Vince gets...but he just may want to rethink the way he posts and the wording he uses because when it's all said and done, it IS JUST A GAME...NOT WAR. (Frankly, in the whole scheme of things...I'm looking OUT for Vince...because if that came across just anybody...that post could've been reported...with merit.)

You said that NE fans aren't taking Philly seriously...I beg to differ. Trust me...Pats fans take ANY 13-3 team seriously. Every game the Pats go into is another game...there was no streak...there was no SuperBowl victory last year...there was no division championship...NOTHING... 1 game...every game to them is do or die...and every Pats fan knows this.

And, if the Cards had beaten the Sox...yes, we would've been bummed...but that was actually EXPECTED to happen. Nobody really EXPECTED the Sox to win! Heck, it would've been worse if the Yanks had beaten the Sox...(Just like the year before...we were bummed...and crushed...but guess what...we showed up next year and we were all still behind our team.)

But oh well, anyways, I'll just listen to Vince and let him rant. You won't hear from me in this thread anymore. Have fun.

A few Jacksonville hotels are refusing to take in people from Philly. They think we're troublemakers. :lookaroun  One hotel manager said he wished Atlanta would have won cause their fans are "more gentlemanly".

*NOTE - I'm not particularly proud of the following story, but it is sort of funny.*

One day I walked into the locker room of my Karate club and two of my friends were talking about an Eagle's game they were at:

Steve - . . . so then remember when you were talking about how Troy Aikmen's mom was a crack- and Michael Irvin wore lacy panties to those Dallas fans.

Doug - Yeah, they were getting pretty pi$$ed off, but they didn't say anything. Kept pretending they couldn't hear us and watching the game.

Me - Whoah, wait a minute. That's not cool. How would you like to go to Dallas and get treated like that.

They both looked at me and in near perfect unison said: "We were in Dallas!"

Are we the only abusive city in the country? There's gotta be another. Maybe Detroit?

Remember last season, the Monday night game in Miami, where there were more Eagles fans than Dolphins? There were drunken Eagles fans all over Miami. Miami is a big city, Jacksonville isn't. How on earth is Jacksonville gonna handle us? Oh man, I wanna go! I really wanna go! :sohappy:

The WIP guys are going "If any of you get locked up, we are not responsible! We don't know you! We have nothing to do with you!"

Vince, were you listening to WIP this morning around 7:30? Some guy called in to tell his brother he was taking him to the game, so they got the brother on the phone and the guy who called in originally was crying as he told him . . . then they had Arson Arnie on, and he was crying saying that Sunday was the best day of his life, better than his wedding day and the days his kids were born.

I wasn't awake yet.

This is what Dave Spadaro said yesterday in his column.

"My usual Monday morning chat with WIP. I've taken a lot of heat over the years from the gang, and it's been a fun bit, a good back-and-forth rap.

At one point in the conversation, I admit -- and I try to think about my words before I speak them -- that when the Eagles beat New England, the thrill for me will be greater than the feeling I had for my wedding and the birth of my children.

I think I'm telling the truth. It didn't take me 16 years to get the woman I loved to marry me and have children ... I certainly didn't work this hard to have a family. I love my family with everything, but come on...

It takes about two minutes before somebody walks up to me in the office and tells me how sick I am."

Sorry Eagles Fans

Sorry Eagles Fans  Your going to have to be happy with finally winning the NFC championship. That is all you are going to get this year. Tom Brady and the Patriots are UNDEFEATED in the post season. A week ago, they embarrassed most prolific offense in NFL history (limiting them to 3 points) and spanked the number 1 defense (34 Points!). I am a Pats fan and I can't wait to watch my team win it's third SuperBowl Championship in 4 years. :sohappy:

The biggest problem the Eagles and the rest of the league has is, when will the Patriots allow another team with the SuperBowl? Maybe three or four years from now, Tom and Co. will take a year off.:drevil:
