Sorry Eagles Fans  Your going to have to be happy with finally winning the NFC championship. That is all you are going to get this year. Tom Brady and the Patriots are UNDEFEATED in the post season. A week ago, they embarrassed most prolific offense in NFL history (limiting them to 3 points) and spanked the number 1 defense (34 Points!). I am a Pats fan and I can't wait to watch my team win it's third SuperBowl Championship in 4 years. :sohappy:

The biggest problem the Eagles and the rest of the league has is, when will the Patriots allow another team with the SuperBowl? Maybe three or four years from now, Tom and Co. will take a year off.:drevil:

Undefeated just means you haven't lost... yet. It's coming and it's coming by our hands. :p

Actually, I prefer the trash talkers. They make me angry, I like being angry. I don't want to hear any "we wish you luck" crap.

I can see this thread getting unpleasent, somewhat like the politic threads. I know some of you are passionate about your teams, but try to keep a handle on it, and don't get carried away. Remember that things written on a forum often dont read in the way they are intended. We can only see words, and not the spirit in which they were written, which often leaves a lot of these posts sounding rude and aggressive. Thanks.

So what is up with that Toll Bridge going over to Jersey? I mean come on.
Which one? There are 8 in PA (including the PA Turnpike) and 1 in DE connecting to Jersey. You can get into Jersey for free but you have to pay to leave.

But I do like the way flights come into Philly. Flying over that Naval yard is pretty cool.
I guess you have never come in from the West then (only 10% of the time depending on winds) which looks like you're going to crash into the river!

Have they done anything with that big white cruise ship that was 'parked' on the doorstep to the city? That thing was spooky looking. I never got the full story on it from my customers in Jersey.

That ship is the USS United States. It still holds (or did hold until the new Cunard ship?) the speed record for crossing the Atlantic. It was purchased by Norwegian Cruise Lines in efforts to avoid the Jones Act laws prohibiting non-US based ships to visit only US ports without stops in a foreign nation. The US Navy still had secretive technologies on board and wanted them removed prior to handing the ship over to NCL.

You're on the Eagle's side. You don't count.

Around the Horn today, 3 of the 4 panelists said the Eagles have no chance to beat the Patriots. The only dissenting vote was from Woody Paige, the crazy one. "Of course, they have a chance!" I like him.

*NOTE - I'm not particularly proud of the following story, but it is sort of funny.*

One day I walked into the locker room of my Karate club and two of my friends were talking about an Eagle's game they were at:

Steve - . . . so then remember when you were talking about how Troy Aikmen's mom was a crack- and Michael Irvin wore lacy panties to those Dallas fans.

Doug - Yeah, they were getting pretty pi$$ed off, but they didn't say anything. Kept pretending they couldn't hear us and watching the game.

Me - Whoah, wait a minute. That's not cool. How would you like to go to Dallas and get treated like that.

They both looked at me and in near perfect unison said: "We were in Dallas!"

 :sohappy: Classic !!!! It's been a while since I shot a drink thru my nose. Sorry for the visual.

The Eagles have a quite a dilemma.

The doctor will NOT clear TO to play the Superbowl. TO, however, will refuse the doctor's advice and said he will play. The doctor told him the devastating risks he would face if he plays. He said he's willing to take those risks. He will try to run this week and then it's up to the Eagles whether he plays or not. I really admire TO, his drive, his heart. I know how badly he wants this. I know how badly we want him in this. But I don't want to see him hurt. I dunno what to think now. This may be our only shot at this.

Thanks for the info. It's been a few years since I was there. Yes, I never flew in from the other direction. We did have one instance where the plane landing ahead of us was slow to get off the runway and we practically did a touch and go to avoid them. We then did a quick turn around right over downtown Philly at pretty low altitude - COOL. I am not sure on the bridge, but you are right, it only cost money to leave Jersey (or does that mean it costs you to get into Philly?). We ate at some nice place down on the river and then walked over to Dave and Busters for a night of gaming.

Anyway - Go EAGLES, unless of course the Pats win, then Go Michigan (slight reference to Brady's Wolverines).

Well if you were in the city, then I'd have to say you are referring to the Ben Franklin (blue and directly in center of town) or the Walt Whitman (green and down by the stadium area)

Pretty sure it was the Walt Whitman. I remeber passing all the Sports arenas and such. Last visit was part of a Lean Manufacturing seminar held at Villanova. Years ago. No bad memories of Philly. Just wish I would of had more time to sight see. Lot of History in that town.

I KNEW I had another reason to cheer for the Eagles. :lookaroun

Sorry, Michigan fan from the Schembecler days. Of course when you're a Kentucky fan, you need to fins another football team to root for :animwink: .

But to keep on topic. I hope Donovan's mom is serving Campbell's soup out of the Lombardi trophy.

It probably was the Walt since the glide approach to the long East/West runway will put you inline with the stadiums and WW Bridge.

But... isn't the Lombardi Trophy a large silver football atop a crystal base? It would just run down the sides, unless they cut the football in half and hollowed it out. But that just seems wrong. Now the Stanley Cup on the other hand... that's not doing anything right now without Hockey Season happening. Maybe they could borrow that. ;)

I got this e-mail today. Too funny. :) Typical Philly Fan!

An elderly man had 50 yard line tickets for the Eagles SUPERBOWL game. As he sits down, a younger gentlemen comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him.

"No," he says, "The seat is empty."

"Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for an Eagles Superbowl, and not use it?"

"Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Eagles game we haven't been to together since we got married in 1967."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone else -- a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?" The man shakes his head. "No, they're all at the Funeral."

Go Eagles !!!!
