E:E Rumor

Also posted this on the effects thread, but since many tend to miss it as one scrolls down the thread list, I figured I'd post it here too:

Latest rumor I've heard about E:E and the Yeti was that they're at least considering building a new Yeti completely.

Supposedly it will be similar to the original, but the movements and such won't be so hard on its supports, as to prevent it from breaking again and having to return to the less than thrilling B-mode.

I heard this from a respectable source, and it was presented as fact. But they did confirm that it came from someone else's mouth, so take this with a grain of salt as it could be merely speculation.

I've never noticed the yeti in the two times I've been on the ride, so whether or not the yeti's there dosen't really affect me, to be honest.

Once you see it in A mode it will matter to you. Yeti in B mode would be like the HM with the audio and motion turned off the the grave yard scene.

All I guess you can say is that it would help prevent the Yeti from going down so often, if the rumor is true. Thanks for letting us know. :)

LIke I said in the other thread, isn't that defeating the purpose? They'll still need to shut down the ride for instillation...

Not as long. I heard a LONG time ago, when this first beame an issue this would take around a month. Fixing what's there could take 1-2.

I hope this happens. It's really my only complaint with DAK.

I'd imagine most likely (unless they could somehow have it complete to the point where it could be installed overnight :lookaroun)

But I think what's key to this strategy is the significant decrease in downtime for the install

The lesser of two evils really

People deserve an A-mode Yeti

I don't think that it could be accomplished that quickly... But it would be a viable and easier closure.

I wonder if they'd attempt to re-market it after it eventually opens with an A-mode Yeti.

For people who never saw it in its purest form, it could feel like a new ride.

Fix the minor effects and throw in some more details and you have yourself:
"Expedition:Everest, Re-Imagined!"

I have never seen the Yeti on its A-mode glory. I guess I got to book my next trip to right after they are done with this.

It would be funny, but I don's see them ever admitting that there was a mistake to begin with.

Unless it ALL gets a overhaul.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
IF this were to happen, maybe the current yeti could be taken down ANOTHER notch and shipped over to The Matterhorn. That sucker could eat the yetis there currently for lunch.

Or perhaps the original Yeti could be placed as a static figure elsewhere in the attraction? Perhaps somehow lit as you fall backwards into the mountain.

Exactly. Remove from the mountain and create a seperate attraction with it. "Yeti Encounter?". That way guests could experience it in a much more intense way rather than the second or two currently experienced.

Then they could add several Yeti effects for the coaster that suggests you are being chased but it isn't necessary to see the entire Yeti if done correctly. What is unseen can be far scarier and intense than what is seen. Especially if they create the sense he's gaining on you added to the intensity of the runaway coaster.

Oh yeah, that'd work.:drevil:

Specifically, what does the Yeti do (and not do) in B Mode? I've only seen him (if you can call that little tease you get on the ride "seeing") in A.
