I am a new Vacation Club member (YEAH :sohappy:)... I was just curious if anyone has stayed at any of the other resorts not in WDW?
We were looking at the 2009 vacation planner, saw all of the choices and was just curious.

We have been to Hilton Head twice and it is very different from WDW. HHI is a very nice resort, but is a much quieter style of vacation. A few thoughts come to mind...
- No theme parks
- No major water parks. The resort pool is nice, but certainly not a water park.
- No full-service restaurant on site. Unless you want counter service, you will need to go off-resort.
- If you go, be sure to try some of the scheduled resort activities. In my opinion, they are like shipboard activities on a cruise. They are a great opportunity to interact with the cast members.
- If you have kids, be sure to let them try the kids activities. Once our kids tried the program, they wanted to go every day.
- If you want beach time, you will need to travel to the beach house. A bit inconvienient, but once you're there, you have the beach, pool, and counter service food.

My Home resort is Animal Kingdom, and our first stay is in Sept. at Bay Lake. Which I am very excited about. I have never stayed on the Monorail. I am trying to figure out where to go next year. Was thinking HHI, but then I was thinking maybe trying the new resort at Disneyland?
So much to think about.
But thank you!

My husband, sister and I went to Vero Beach last August. We enjoyed ourselves and its a great way to relax after the hustle and bustle of Disney. The things to keep in mind:

-The bugs just make sure you get yourself some bug spray. They ate me right up.
-We found we were limited in food options, but then again I found this great seafood restaurant that was amazing.
-the pool was amazing we really enjoyed it.
-As was the campfire. It was a lot of fun.
-Its a really quiet and relaxing place, if your looking for a boardwalk or anything your not going to find it.
-though the seaturtles were amazing to watch!

We have stayed at Disney Hilton Head, SC, use it was a stop off when we drove to FL in 2007. We also stayed at Vero Beach last year. Vero is close enough that you can use it as relaxation spot b4 or after going to the World.

we've stayed at both HHI and VB. After a few days, you ran out of things to do. Its nothing like being in WDW, thats for sure. Overall experience was good!

We've stayed at Vero Beach on points and loved it, but were there for 3 nights, which worked for us due to the quietness of teh resort, will check out Hilton Head this July,

The GC looks great, saw it up close when we stayed at the GC on points, very nice resort.

I can say we were not crazy about HHI. The Disney resort is on the Marsh side. We did not realize that if you wanted to go to the beach you had to catch a shuttle or drive across the Hway to get to it. The resort is nice, a little dated, but relaxing. My DD'd liked going out on to the dock and catching crabs and just watching the wildlife. I do not think we will ever go back though.

We stayed at Disney's Vero Beach one Christmas and another year for the 4th July. It was nice and quite there for the 4th July than the mad crowds in Disneyworld. We loved it both times and would go again.

Well...

We stayed at VB and loved it...our home resort is SSR. I would be curious to know about resorts other than Disney owned properties like the ones you can trade out to with RCI???
