Dumb guests doing dumb things.....

Last year I lucked out and saw that Soarin, towards the end of the night, had functionally no wait (we're talking 20-30 minute waits for two hours straight with enough time afterwards to still catch Illuminations) so I rushed there and enjoyed the ride. On one attempt, the lady in front of me had a FP for the ride, and was absolutely livid with how terrible Disney was for letting her get a Fastpass for something that wouldn't be a wait at all. For the whole fifteen minutes we were in line she kept telling her family she was going to talk to someone about this, and eventually, when we got to the end of the queue, she did, proceeding to hold up the entire rest of the line for another five or so minutes. We would have boarded already had she not thrown a hissy fit.

I'm not even sure what she expected to gain out of complaining. By the luck of the gods Soarin had no line at the time she had a FP for it, it wasn't like them giving her another FP for Soarin was going to make the line move any faster for her. I came close to arguing with her over it.

I went to Disney with my friend when we were 21 plans to get drunk at the happiest place on earth. Spent a small fortune at the Neon Cactus, the bar at Disneyland Hotel at the time, and then ride the Monorail, to hit the mountains drunk.

I've been known to enjoy a few martinis at the Uva Bar and then go into Disneyland for fireworks. Nice use of a buzz!

And soon, you won't have to! Quick service alcohol coming soon.

What's your source for this?

Disneyland Paris has sold alcohol since shortly after opening in 1992. Shanghai appears to sell alcohol whereas Hong Kong and Tokyo Disneyland do not. DisneySea does however.

Yeah that article only mentions the existing TABLE service restaurants serving alcohol. What is the source for it coming to QUICK service? I really don't see that happening at Magic Kingdom as a drink with a sit down dinner is very difference to getting something "to go".

Paris is of course very different as many Europeans see alcoholic drinks in a different way compared to UK/USA. In France and many other parts of Europe it is common to get beer in a McDonalds.

Yes but adding alcohol to the rest of the MK table service restaurants only happened like two months ago which suggests the whole ‘alcohol is banned at the castle parks’ is very much on the way out. Disneyland has quick service alcohol coming and Magic Kingdom will almost definitely follow suit. Too much extra money to be made. I’m against it but since all the other non castle parks sell alcohol and guests seem to behave themselves for the most part I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Oh for God's sake, people. There is no source. Common sense. It's coming like a sneeze you can't suppress. Like a fart in an elevator. Like an idiot in government. Like a thief in the night.

"What's your source?" My source is history.

In other words, pure speculation - got it. Why would you make a statement that something is positively happening, as opposed to saying something like "I wouldn't be surprised if . . ."?

I don't think any amount of bromine will fully clean water that people spit into and lord know what else. It's not Ohio River nasty, but it's far from mountain stream quality water.
By Florida law it is swimming pool quality.

I never said anything was positively happening. Where did I write that? Fake news! Got it.

Your quote - "And soon, you won't have to! Quick service alcohol coming soon." Just about as clear as anything that you were stating that quick service alcohol is DEFINITELY coming to the MK. No "I think . . .", no "It would make sense . . ." - just a statement of fact, which I and others have asked you to back up. And you of course stated then that it was your opinion.

I don't know if this counts as a dumb thing ... we waited on the single rider lane for Test Track, it would be nice to ride together but not worth the much longer standby line ... I'm told to stand here, lane 2/whatever). This girl in front of me turns around and asks me if I'd go on some other line to switch with her friend. No. I'm pretty sure the CM would have told me to go back to my lane but if she wanted to ride with her friend, go wait in the standby line. I guess the dumb thing is thinking I'd go along with it.
Why would you not switch to accommodate?

Imagine, if you will, what would happen if in a theme park queue line everyone did that. Everything would just come to a standstill behind you. I don't see that as being fair to all of them. So if you feel that it would be alright to do that, would you be willing to go back to the end of the line to accommodate them and so you do no direct harm to all those in line behind you?

If that’s what people want to do then fine but not only are they going to have a bad time but they will ruin it not only for themselves but many others as well. Riding with loud obnoxious drunks is not fun, secondly they run the risk of puking on other guests mid ride or out in the open which is not fun for anyone who has to witness that and especially not for the poor CM who has to clean up after them. It’s very childish, selfish and irresponsible behaviour. I frequently see edgy teens posting that they are going to Disney high on drugs or smashed off their faces on alcohol.. pathetic, especially when young children will be witnessing these antics.
I agree, being 21 I thought it was cool at the time, but now I can't believe I did that. Then again, we weren't obnoxiuos, because back then if you were publicly intoxicated you were booted, too.

C'mon my man we are talking about one spot in front of you to accommodate a family or friend to ride together or switching with the person in line to your left or right, no I would not expect to switch with someone four lines down , but c'mon right next to you or right in front of you, 100% of the time if its not affecting me riding with my group at the end of the day you are still riding single and in fact getting on sooner, your question is apples to oranges, you cannot compare moving one spot to going back to the end of the queue, there is no effect on anyone else in line

It is not the one person, it is the domino affect. This is something that people easily pick up on. I, personally, have no problem with a person by themselves or with a kid, leaves the line to use the bathroom and there are ways to do that that do not involve pushing your way back up the whole line. I have never felt that a person going back to the spot that they had been to previously was going to make a difference in my wait time, since they had been there already anyway. But, holding spots for friends while the friends are out rubber necking around and then trying to cut into the line. Is something that I feel is over the line. If you want your party together then enter the line together. It really isn't that difficult to understand.

I had one experience on Test Track where a dad either didn't know or didn't care about the rules of single rider. He got to the front of the line and DEMANDED that he be seated by his son. The CM was very cool, and said that he and his son could either ride where they were placed or they could go back outside and wait in the standby line. The dad (after much yelling and cursing) finally took his spot, only to then badger the lady in the load line in front of him to switch with him so he could ride with his son. She was clearly non-confrontational, and agreed to switch.

It's always annoyed me that this tool did what he did, and that the lady caved and gave him exactly what he wanted. Good on you for standing your ground, goof!

It's just good Karma, that's all, the world is losing that nice touch we have/had, everyone always thinks someone is trying to get one over on us, sometimes a kind gesture goes a long way, I am very much a " The glass is half full " person, not half empty

I was in the single rider line for test track one year and there was a father/son from the UK that were ahead of me. We all three got put into the 3rd slot right in a row. I was in the same car as the father and the son(about 11) was in the next car. I offered to switch with the son so they could be in the same car. They never asked and were very grateful that I offered. Probably would have done it no problem even if they did ask. I would probably feel different if they were rude and expected it.
