Well, for your sake, I suggest you never, ever go to the real Oktoberfest.

Budweiser???

Holy cow, folks -- if you're going to start your day by drinking beer for breakfast, for heaven's sake, drink GOOD BEER!
It’s Wurstfest and I go all the time...just not at Disney.

Yes she was just star struck getting to meet him and Cinderella. I or my husband should have held onto the wand while she met the characters. That was dumb parenting on our part.
Give yourself a break. That has nothing to do with parenting at all. There is no way anyone would have anticipated anything like that happening. Parents are people not clairvoyant. Even people that claim to be clairvoyant continue to e-mail me telling me that they can look into my future (for a fee, of course). If they were really able to see into the future they would have not wasted their time trying to sell me on it.

In all my years, I have never seen any of this drunkeness I've read about. Either I'm blind, or I'm lucky and should play the lottery (usually the retort around these parts).
Nor have I, but, I don't doubt that it exists, however, without altering the degree of drunkenness it doesn't make for a very dramatic story. I've told people millions of times, never to exaggerate!:jawdrop::joyfull:

I feel like this is becoming more common than it should be..
I have said it before, that I have witnessed more extremely rude and inappropriate behavior from completely sober adults at MK than I have ever experienced at Epcot from a drunk person.

IMO, a child witnessing a drunk person who is having a good time and hollering out loud or "racing in a scooter" or even vomitting in a trash can is far less harmful than the child witnessing his/her own parents (or random adult) screaming at a CM over a FP return window or shoving people out of the way to to get a better spot for the parade, or ramming their stroller into people, or any of the other rude and entitled behaviors that you see everyday at MK

Last May when we were closing down Epcot there was an obviously inebriated had to have just turned 21 year old girl. She was very loud drunk crying sitting on a bench over near The Seas. Her friends were there but appeared to be distancing themselves I guess until she calmed down.

Some people can get drunk and not act like idiots. I, for example, am not the type of drunk to cry, yell, or try to climb the pyramid in Mexico. I also don't attribute being loud and obnoxious to being drunk either. I have seen many people sober that are just like that all the time. The good thing about Disney is that unless you are in line for a ride or on the ride itself, there are plenty of places to go if you want to distance yourself. Im completely fine with alcohol being served in any restaurant. It really doesnt effect me one way or another. If people want to spend $10 on a watered down mojito, let them do it. I have probably consumed more alcohol drinking endless margaritas on the beach than the people who are drinking around the world.

Yes! My almost 8 year old will definitely recognize rudeness over drunkenness. Honestly, if she were to see someone throwing up she would just think they were sick. If she were to witness drunken scooter races she would most likely just think they were being crazy and having fun. Anything other than that I usually just tell her that whatever that person is doing is none of our business. If I saw someone do something that would personally effect me, there are plenty of CM's around to report it to.

We were staying at the Boardwalk and I walked into the restroom next to the lobby and there was a man washing a pair of kids trousers that the child had obviously pooped in. The sink was filled with dirty, brown poop water and was overflowing ALL over the counter and the floor. The water was running full stream and the man continued plunging the small pants in and out of the water and scrubbing them with paper towels which he kept discarding onto the counter and floor as well. It was disgusting.

It seemed pointless because even if he succeeded in cleaning the pants they would be soaked and the kid would have to wear wet pants.
Yeah man. A pair of kid's pants is like $10.

Discard and replace.

I was just at EPCOT several days last week and saw plenty of drunken behavior that I wished wasn't there.

It's not like it's out of control, but it doesn't have to be. My argument has always been even 1 drunk person can ruin another person's night or impact a child in a negative way that shouldn't happen at Disney.
However, some people would call any alcohol induced behavior bad no matter how slight (my Mother being that kind of person) and others, who have actually been to a bar/club, would brush off some things as normal.

It's the whole kids thing though. Kids shouldn't have to deal with nonsense at Disney and they don't have a barometer for levels of drunkenness.

Seeing drunk people was pretty much my whole childhood. The adults always drank. I guess maybe that is why I rarely do. I do drink 1 or 2 when I go on vacation but never stupid drunk. I am also a happy drunk.

You realize that these things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive of each other?

I've always been a very friendly drunk. Not sloppy friendly, just much more willing to meet people and chat. That's why the Rose & Crown has been so good for me - I always meet someone from somewhere new, and enjoy getting to know people!
