Are any Disney employees represented by a union? Im sure they will have something to say about this.
Ok, it used to be cheaper to hire a bunch of part timers so they did not have to pay for insurance for them. Now since you have to provide(or pay the penalty) then is it cheaper to have all the folks getting the insurance to work the full 40 hours. So now you have 1 person working 40 hours and getting insurance instead of 2 people working 20 hours each getting insurance. This is a no brainer.Call my cynical, but I doubt that Disney is doing this out of the goodness of their corporate heart. What benefit does Disney get from this?
He's an idiot if he actually tries to. All his opponents will have to do is reveal that he tried to sell Disneyland and he's toast.
Rhetoric. He shopped the idea around. If you don't want to call that "trying to sell" that's fine, but don't ignore that there was progressive activity in that direction.
Because the term Obamacare is politically charged.
Oh, he was courting eastern and western Asians for fun?You have a link or some proof?

Sorry, I'm not doing homework for you.
No, it just means you were not paying attention when it was being discussed. We hardly speak with citations and references.Your the one making up nonsense so it's your job to back it up.
That's like saying "Walt Disney was a child molester" and then when someone asks for proof you go "im not doing your homework for you. You figure it out!"
Doesn't work that way bucko

427 part time workers to transfer to fulltime. Yet for the past 10 years, Disney has split hundreds of fulltime possitions into two part time possitions when they had spots open, people retire or need to create extra roles (try and get fulltime in Photopass and you'll know what I mean). So this news is simply to make themselves look good when all they've been doing otherwise is cutting fulltime spots so they won't have to provide people with insurance. And all of those extra part time roles have created havoc in the cast parking lots (at MK they had to add a whole new addition just to accomodate them).
Call me bitter, but it's a shame on how much money they squeeze out of each and every guest yet fail to provide a basic living wage to thousands of people who made them who they are.

Maybe Disney is seeing the error in their ways and trying to make a change?

As I recall, knowledgeable people here on this site asserted that Iger did indeed try to sell, not only Disneyland, but ALL of the parks, except for Tokyo's park because it is owned by OLC. He didn't get any takers. Lucky for him, because if he'd succeeded, he'd be picking tar and feathers out of his hair for the rest of his life.
