Dreams Come True...on the Dream!

Well, I guess being sick is good for one thing- starting trip reports (I currently am stuck at home with laryngitis). So this looks to be as good as anytime to start.

Before getting into the TR, here's some background info. I booked this cruise back in June 2011. The funny thing is, I booked it after seeing pictures/reports from other friends who had just sailed on the Dream! On this trip, it would be just me sailing. I booked an 11C stateroom (I didn't pick a specific room though, as it didn't matter to me). Also, since I get lost VERY easily, me and my dad decided it would be best if I parked at MCO and took a shuttle over. Well...let the TR begin!

This was also the night the characters were in their formal outfits. Sooooo cute!! I wish they had these outfits at WDW, because I loved them.

I also got to get a picture with the captain.

The show this evening was Villains Tonight. While I know others that weren't that impressed with the show (including some from my table), I enjoyed it! I thought it was fun the way the villains were portrayed (and I LOVED Hades, and Yzma/Kronk).

They were really good! I was quite impressed. I wish I could be that good, with such big hands

Ooo, you definitely do!! It was soooooo good. I wish I could have had it every night

And the Formal outfits were so cute! However, wait until Pirate night. I think those are just as cute

I'm looking forward to seeing whats next

It should be up soon! :)

LOVE the TR so far!! The chracters look so good in their formal wear! And is it just me... or does Donald look a little strange without some sort of hat on? I just feel like I always see him with a hat that without one it just doesn't look right! lol

Can't wait to go on a cruise, though I think my first will be the ladies cruise next September. I have a long way to wait..... :( Bummer

Cant wait to read more!! :)

Ah, I'm loving this TR - I have so many comments!

First: love how many character pictures you'r getting! I don't know if I've ever seen Daisy and her sparkly dress - somehow I've missed that! You definitely won't regret some of those pictures because they're so exclusive to DCL!

You're on the same dining rotation we had in August - killing me! Especially killing me: food pictures! Eep! Wasn't that strawberry shortcake ice cream sundae at the Royal Palace to DIE FOR? I want one now so bad.. they didn't seem to have anything similar on the Wonder.

CAPTAIN HENRY! Man, I miss that guy.

Also: I've never seen Goofy in his golf-gear. As a golfer, that's one I'll have to hunt out if I ever get back on the Dream!

Yeah, I agree about Donald. I think the poor guy should get to wear a hat

But just think about how much fun it will be! I'm going on the ladies' cruise, and I think it's going to be amazing (and definitely worth the wait!). :)

Thank you! Meeting characters has been my hobby for the last 7 years, so it was my main goal on the cruise (and I think they were starting to recognize me by the end :lookaroun ).

The food was soooooo good, especially the desserts!! I'm amazed I didn't sink the ship :o

Captain Henry was nice. I'm glad I got to meet him

And Goofy was a great golfer! I enjoyed watching him play

Yeesh! I'm horrible with doing TRs. I can't believe it's taken me so long to finish it =/ Oh well, no worries...it should be done today. Moving on!

Tues, Feb 14
Castaway Cay day!! I had really been looking forward to this stop, from everything I heard about it. However, for some reason, we were delayed getting there (I am pretty sure it was a medical emergency). But that was fine with me. Why, do you ask? The characters that normally would have been spread out around the island were now meeting in the ship, and this made it a lot easier to find them (yep, my inner dorkiness coming out). So during the delay, I was able to find: Chip and Dale, Mickey, Pluto, Daisy, and Captain Jack.

By this point, the ship had arrived and docked. I was able to meet Minnie and Goofy on the island, but I gave up meeting Donald (because it would have meant running back all the way to the ship, and I was pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten there in time).

The island was just as nice as I thought it would be. I settled down in the second section, near Pelicon Plunge. And speaking of which...it was fun! At the time I arrived, there was NO WAIT to go on. So I literally kept going on over and over and over again. I personally enjoyed the enclosed slide more. The only annoying part was that you had to swim out to the slides, and the swim back would get tiring (especially for me, because I inhaled a lot of water dropping off the slide). After awhile, I decided it was time for a break (I was starting to get tired, plus a line was now starting to form). I found a lounger in the shade, and relaxed with my book. Once lunch started, I went and got some. Cookies Two was pretty good! After eating, I went back to the ship.

I figured that since I was already wet, I might as well do the AquaDuck. Man, was it fun! I could now see why the line was always so long (luckily, I didn't have much of a wait. I rode 5 times in under an hour, if that). Then it was back to the room, where I found out that I had gotten sunburned...pretty badly on my left arm. Youch! It was not going to be a fun night (and it was Pirate Party that night too). Even with being sunburned, I decided to go with my idea of dressing up (I had gone as a pirate for MNSSHP, and brought the costume with me on the Dream). All the characters loved it! I got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Chip and Dale, Stitch, and met Captain Jack again (Pluto was not out at all, for some reason).

Dinner was at the Animator's Palate, and I was not that impressed with the pirate night menu. I skipped dessert to go up and get a good spot for the show. I was able to get close up, but the strap from the stansion in front will be in the pictures (because everyone in the front wound up sitting, amazingly enough).

By this point, I was really not feeling well. So as much as I didn't want to, I turned in early. I feel bad that I had to miss the fireworks (I've heard they are amazing), but there is always next time. And...there definitely will be a next time!

Wed, Feb 15

This was the day at sea. I didn't really do much. I started out sleeping in, which felt really nice. Then I went to see the Muppets playing in the theater. Last second, I decided to play Bingo. I didn't win, but I had fun anyway. There was an afternoon showing of that evening's show, Disney's Believe. I decided to go, and LOVED the show (even now, I keep on singing the opening song to the show). I went to see which characters were going to be out for the main meeting, but it was just the VIPs in their sailer outfits again. As it was a bit crazy, I decided to skip. Dinner was in Animator's Palate again, and I enjoyed the menu a lot more this time.

After dinner, I decided to see the show again (and enjoyed it just as much as the first time). Then...it was time to pack (as much as I didn't want to). I put my luggage out, and went to go see Muppets again as a final hurrah. Funny thing is, a lot of people seemed to have the same idea. Once the movie ended, it was time to turn in.

Well, the cruise has unfortunately come to an end :( I didn't want to go to breakfast, so I slept in. Once I had everything packed up, I headed down to the atrium and was able to disembark pretty quickly. Getting through customs wasn't too bad, but finding my suitcase was a pain. The trip back went by pretty quickly, and before long I was back on the road heading home. Now let the countdown to the next cruise begin!
