While no one knows 100% for certain, I’ve heard from two different sources who believe that the old Dueling Dragon’s statues have been destroyed, which is really a shame. Harry Potter or not, removing the famous Dragons statue from the park just seems wrong. Not on the level of Disney removing Jim Henson’s name from the Muppets attraction, but somewhere just below that.

Anyone have any info and/or pictures?

Yes, they're gone.

That stinks...I mean I knew it was coming...still stinks!

I think it's really bad, they should have sold them on Ebay or something, lol. They'd look great in front of my house!

I'm tellin' you: Everytime they tear something like this up, they tear up ALOT of my excitement for Potterland.

It would be a real shame if these have gone! I guessed that they would be reused for HP as the themeing is pretty perfect. Maybe universal are thinking they can advertise the ride as 'new' with a little retheming?

Pics from today (sorry about the quality, they are from my phone)

New entrance to Dragons, in Jurassic Park, on the old exit path, towards the now closed Unicorn

I am not a Harry Potter and have yet to work up any enthusiasm for the new attraction and the fact that they are tearing down some of my fave parts of IOA to make way for it is not doing it any favours in my book!

You're not Harry Potter? We have something in common  (Just messin)

No favours in your book...but in Harry's book there were no Blizzrock and Pyrock.

I'm not extremely excited about this either...and I actually like Harry Potter's books and movies. If done right, this could be phenomenal...but I have a feeling I'm going to be let down. There are no "dueling dragons" in the stories...so are they retheming the coaster? It wouldn't be bad if they rethemed the area to a Quidditch Stadium and rethemed the trains to make it feel as if you're flying on brooms (flying coaster).

I would totally be in support of that as well. I love Dueling Dragons, but I've been on it a ton of times and wouldn't mind something new. Plus, I love flying coasters. That would be so cool!!

I think the dragons track layout would be WAY to intense to just add flying cars. I don't really think that would be possible, nor worth the overall investment.
